Job Description

Sales:

  • Promote and sell solar panels, inverters, and related products to customers, dealers, EPCs, and installers.
  • Identify new business opportunities in the assigned territory.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, dealers and direct clients.
  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly reports on leads, visits and orders.

Service & Support:

  • Visit customer sites for technical inspections and troubleshooting.
  • Provide remote and on-site support for inverter installations and fault resolution.
  • Coordinate with the service team for warranty claims, replacements and escalated cases.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance checks and performance audits.
  • Maintain proper documentation of service calls and customer feedback.

Job Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that all solar photovoltaic (PV) modules and manufacturing processes comply with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on driving product quality, process excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, statutory regulations, and international standards for solar PV modules.
  • Establish quality objectives, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor quality performance and drive continual improvement across manufacturing operations.

2. Incoming Quality Control (IQC)

Develop and implement inspection plans for incoming raw materials, including:

  • Solar Cells
  • Glass
  • EVA/POE
  • Back sheets
  • Junction Boxes
  • Frames
  • Busbars and Ribbons

Responsibilities include:

  • Approving incoming materials based on defined quality standards.
  • Coordinating with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
  • Conducting supplier audits and performance evaluations.
  • Monitoring supplier quality performance and implementing corrective actions.

3. In-Process Quality Control (IPQC)

Monitor quality throughout the manufacturing process, including:

  • Cell Stringing
  • Layup
  • Lamination
  • Trimming
  • Framing
  • Junction Box Fixing
  • Electroluminescence (EL) Testing
  • Flash Testing
  • Packaging

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring adherence to manufacturing processes.
  • Identifying process deviations and reducing defects.
  • Implementing process improvements to improve product quality.

4. Final Quality Control (FQC)

  • Verify that finished modules meet electrical, mechanical, cosmetic, and performance requirements.
  • Review electrical test data and inspection reports.
  • Approve final product release before shipment.
  • Ensure traceability of finished products.

5. Testing & Compliance

Ensure compliance with international standards including:

  • IEC 61215
  • IEC 61730
  • ISO 9001
  • ISO 14001
  • ISO 45001

Additional responsibilities:

  • Coordinate reliability and environmental testing.
  • Support product certification and surveillance audits.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific quality requirements.

6. Customer Quality

  • Investigate customer complaints and warranty claims.
  • Perform root cause analysis using:
  • 8D Methodology
  • 5 Why Analysis
  • Fishbone (Ishikawa) Diagram
  • Pareto Analysis
  • Implement and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
  • Improve customer satisfaction through proactive quality improvements.

7. Process Improvement

  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Reduce defects, scrap, and rework.
  • Improve:
  • First Pass Yield (FPY)
  • Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Process Capability (Cp/Cpk)
  • Drive cost reduction through quality improvement initiatives.

8. Documentation & Quality Records

Develop, maintain, and control:

  • Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Quality Plans
  • Inspection Standards
  • Control Plans
  • Work Instructions
  • Process Flow Charts
  • FMEA
  • PPAP (where applicable)
  • CAPA Records
  • Audit Reports
  • Quality Dashboards

9. Audit Management

  • Lead Internal Quality Audits.
  • Coordinate customer, certification, and regulatory audits.
  • Ensure timely closure of audit observations.
  • Maintain audit readiness across all manufacturing functions.

10. Team Leadership

  • Lead QA/QC Engineers, Quality Inspectors, and Laboratory Personnel.
  • Conduct performance reviews and competency assessments.
  • Develop training plans for quality awareness and technical skills.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

11. Cross-Functional Coordination

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Master's Degree (preferred).

Experience

  • 8–15 years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within Solar PV Module Manufacturing or Electronics Manufacturing.
  • Experience with automated production lines is preferred.
