**A Day in the Life**
A typical day involves developing Power BI dashboards, creating Power Automate workflows, leading AI-driven innovation initiatives, transforming data into actionable insights, and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver intelligent analytics and automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency and business outcomes.
**Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:**
+ Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards using enterprise data models.
+ Support life‑cycle reporting solutions, including ownership of transitioned reports (e.g., Products Life‑cycle reports).
+ Optimize DAX calculations, semantic models, and overall report performance.
+ Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
+ Work with relational databases and cloud data warehouses to build, enhance, and maintain analytical data models.
+ Support and extend enterprise data models (e.g., Resourcing Forecast and Allocation data models).
+ Participate in knowledge‑transfer sessions and ensure smooth transition of data assets.
+ Ensure data accuracy, performance, and compliance with enterprise data governance standards.
+ Develop, maintain, and support Power Apps solutions used by business teams.
+ Provide ongoing support for existing Power Apps (e.g., applications for accessory ordering).
+ Coordinate application handovers to business teams and provide post‑handover support as required.
+ Work with SAP‑integrated applications and understand downstream system impacts.
+ Provide L2/L3 support for Power BI and Power Apps solutions.
+ Monitor application usage, performance, and issues to ensure production stability.
+ Participate in defining support models, WBS creation, and support chartering for applications transitioning to IT support.
+ Ensure minimal disruption during platform upgrades, maintenance windows, and releases.
+ Conduct knowledge‑transfer sessions and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
+ Work closely with cross‑functional teams including business users, data engineers, SAP teams, and IT support teams.
+ Follow enterprise SDLC, change management, and release management processes.
**Required knowledge and experience:**
+ A bachelor's degree in professional courses / equivalent from reputed institution.
+ 4 to 8 years' experience in Software verification & Validation / Development background.
+ Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modelling, performance tuning)
+ Power Apps (Canvas Apps)
+ Power Automate (basic to intermediate)
+ Strong experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, or equivalent)
+ Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or equivalent)
+ Experience with data pipeline and transformation tools (DBT Client / DBT Cloud is a plus)
+ Advanced SQL development and query optimization
+ Dimensional data modelling (star and snowflake schemas)
+ Experience integrating Power BI and Power Apps with enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow)
+ Understanding of security, authentication, and role‑based access control (RBAC) in Power BI and Power AppsNice to Haves:
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
+ Excellent written, organizational, and communication skills is required, and have a flexible and team-oriented attitude.
+ Self-motivated and positive
+ Ability to quickly establish credibility with all levels of customer base
+ Strong experience supporting production BI platforms including Power BI, Tableau, and legacy reporting tools such as Business Objects.
+ Hands‑on experience with Snowflake data warehouse
+ Designing and maintaining views, tables, and secure objects
+ Deep understanding of Snowflake objects (databases, schemas, warehouses, tasks, streams, stages)
+ Performance optimization techniques such as warehouse sizing, clustering, caching, and query tuning
+ Best practices for cost management, data sharing, and environment separation
+ Experience working with enterprise cloud data warehouse architectures, including ingestion, transformation, and semantic layer design.
+ Strong understanding of Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) and its application in analytical data platforms.
+ Experience using data catalog and metadata management tools such as Atlan and Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) for data discovery and lineage.
+ Proven expertise in report and data‑model performance optimization, including architecting solutions that scale from small user groups (10s) to large enterprise audiences (1000s+ users).
+ Solid understanding of RBAC and security modelling across both Power BI semantic models and database‑level security.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform deep root‑cause analysis across reports, data models, and data pipelines.
+ Ability to work independently while managing and supporting multiple applications in parallel.
+ Experience leveraging AI‑assisted analytics features in BI tools (e.g., Power BI Copilot, Smart Narratives, Q&A, Key Influencers, anomaly detection) to enhance analytical insights and user experience.
+ Ability to integrate AI/ML outputs (predictions, classifications, forecasts) into analytical dashboards and frontend applications for business consumption.
+ Exposure to prompt‑driven analytics and natural‑language querying to enable self‑service insights for business users.
+ Understanding of how to design AI‑augmented dashboards that balance explainability, performance, and usability.
+ Exposure to open‑source visualization libraries such as D3.js, Plotly, Vega‑Lite, Apache Charts, or similar frameworks will be a Plus
+ Experience embedding or integrating custom visualizations int **o** BI platforms or web‑based analytical applications.
+ Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills
+ Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced enterprise environment
+ Strong ownership mindset for production systems and ongoing support
+ Experience in knowledge transfer, transition planning, and team onboarding activities

The IT Developer designs, builds, and supports internal CPQ/CLM applications that enable U.S. P&C functionality. Medtronic is hiring an IT Technologist to play a pivotal role in designing and implementing complex Hyperautomation & AI solutions leveraging multiple capabilities such as Artificial Intelligence (AI/ML), Generative AI, Agentic AI, Intelligent Process Automation (IPA), Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Process Mining and no-code automation that leverage our data warehouse and machine learnings platforms and our integrations platform.

+ Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered experiences using Glean across enterprise use cases (search, Q&A, copilots, summarization, insights).
+ Configure and extend Glean internal components, including:
+ Glean Connectors (for enterprise systems such as SharePoint, Confluence, Jira, ServiceNow, file systems, etc.)
+ Glean Search & Retrieval frameworks (relevance tuning, permissions-aware search)
+ Prompt Library & Prompt Engineering for domain-specific AI workflows
+ Glean Apps / Actions / Workflows (task execution, integrations, orchestration)
+ Knowledge Graph & Metadata configurations
+ User roles, access controls, and security configurations
+ Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance Glean-based AI solutions for performance, accuracy, and user experience.
+ Build agentic and workflow-driven AI solutions that combine Glean with automation platforms (RPA, APIs, scripts).
+ Develop decision + execution flows where Glean acts as the intelligence layer.
+ Partner with automation teams to integrate Glean with:
+ RPA tools (UiPath / Automation Anywhere or equivalent)
+ API-driven enterprise workflows
+ Data platforms (knowledge on ETL, Data Lake, Iceberg tables, DW, Structured / unstructured)
+ Write clean, maintainable, and testable code using modern development practices.
+ Develop integrations using APIs, webhooks, and SDKs.
+ Support CI/CD, configuration management, and environment promotion.
+ Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for auditability, compliance, and reliability.
+ Participate in the UAT sessions, gather stakeholder feedback and incrementally offer best suitable solution for the requirements with highest level of performance and quality.
**Required knowledge and experience:**
+ 4+ years of experience or Advanced Degree with minimum of 2 years in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field.
+ Strong programming experience in Python, JavaScript, or similar enterprise languages.
+ Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, OAuth, authentication & authorization.
+ Experience working in enterprise IT environments with security and compliance constraints.
+ Deep technical knowledge in one or more of the Hyperautomation & AI technologies such as AI, RPA within platforms such as UI Path, Automation Anywhere, Databricks, Snowflake and Cloud computing.
+ Continuous Learning mindset, commitment to staying updated with the latest advancements in AI technologies, tools, and methodologies.
+ Building and configuring Glean connectors
+ Creating AI-powered search, Q&A, and knowledge experiences
+ Working with Glean internal components such as prompt frameworks, search relevance tuning, actions, and workflows
+ Experience owning Glean solutions end to end-from setup to production rollout and support.
+ Practical experience applying LLMs, prompt engineering, and retrieval-based AI in real-world use cases.
+ Understanding of RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) patterns.
+ Experience working with unstructured enterprise data.
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Analyze complex scenarios and offer innovative solutions to enhance overall platform and efficiency.
+ Effectively communicate technical findings and process insights to non-technical stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
+ Business Acumen: Understanding of business operations and the ability to align AI solutions with organizational goals to drive value
