Job Summary:
The Academic Officer for Academics is responsible for overseeing the academic standards and teaching quality at the NVN Primary campus. This role ensures the curriculum is delivered effectively, educational policies are followed, and academic objectives are achieved. The AO will also lead the academic planning, evaluation, and continuous improvement of educational programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development and Implementation :
- Design and update the curriculum to meet educational standards and the specific needs of primary-level students.
- Implement innovative teaching methods and educational tools to enhance learning experiences.
- Teacher Support and Development :
- Provide support and guidance to teachers through regular meetings, workshops, and one-on-one sessions.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff to improve teaching skills and knowledge.
- Academic Evaluation and Reporting :
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching methods and learning outcomes.
- Prepare and analyze detailed reports on students' performance and curriculum effectiveness.
- Policy and Compliance :
- Ensure compliance with educational standards and legal regulations.
- Update and implement school policies related to academics.
- Parent Engagement :
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding curriculum updates and students' academic progress.
- Organize parent-teacher meetings and educational seminars to involve parents in their children's education.
- Leadership and Team Management :
- Lead and manage the academic staff at the primary campus, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Resolve any issues related to staff performance and student discipline.
- Resource Management :
- Oversee the allocation and utilization of academic resources such as textbooks, teaching aids, and technology tools.
- Ensure the maintenance of academic facilities and equipment to support teaching activities.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education, Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational administration or a leadership role in primary education.
- Strong understanding of primary education curriculum standards and teaching methodologies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage teams and foster a positive learning environment.

Experience Bands
- Founder Level: 1–3 years of classroom experience in early childhood education. Supports structured activities and care routines.
- Master Level: 4–8 years of experience, capable of leading classroom strategy and guiding support staff.
- Developer Level: 9+ years of experience, taking ownership of curriculum design, school-readiness programs, and parental engagement.
Screening Process
- Creative Task Submission – A short activity or lesson plan to demonstrate classroom creativity
- Proficiency Test – Evaluation of basic tech and documentation skills (MS Office / Class Management Tools)
- Reading & Phonics Test – Live session to assess clarity, articulation, and early literacy handling
- Teaching Demo – Short mock class (storytelling/rhymes/games) to evaluate warmth, energy, and engagement style
