- lead and manage the Special Needs Department; foster a nurturing, inclusive environment for students with diverse learning needs/ multiple disabilities.
- lead the process of identifying, assessing, and reviewing students with special needs.
- provide professional development to the academic team and special educators on effective strategies for working with students with special needs.
- foster strong relationships with parents, ensuring that they are informed and involved in their child's education and progress.
- are well-informed about current trends, research, and best practices in special education and implements relevant changes to improve departmental practices.
- work closely with senior leadership and school team to align SEN strategies with overall school objectives and policies.
- communicate effectively with school leadership, on matters related to SEN policies, student progress, and departmental needs.
- submit detailed reports to the school leadership on the effectiveness of SEN programmes and departmental goals.
- ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulations
Essential Skills & Qualification:
- Master’s degree in special education/ B.ed in special education/ Diploma is special education from a recognized institute. Degree in Psychology would be an advantage
- Must hold a valid RCI Certification
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a Special Educator, with at least 4-5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with parents, students and academic team.
