Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Fashion Textile Designer role based in Bengaluru. The designer will research trends in school uniforms and educational apparel, develop concepts, and create textile and garment designs that align with client requirements and brand guidelines. Day-to-day responsibilities include selecting fabrics and trims, preparing technical specifications, coordinating with textile engineers and production teams, and ensuring designs meet performance criteria such as comfort, durability, and climate suitability. The role also involves collaborating with sales and client service teams to understand school-specific cultural and financial considerations, presenting design options, and refining samples based on feedback. The designer will support quality checks during sampling and production to maintain design integrity and product standards.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in fashion and textile design, including pattern development, color theory, and fabric selection.
- High level proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other CAD tools) for creating and modifying textile and garments.
- Experience in product development and coordination with sampling and production teams to translate designs into final garments.
- Attention to detail, strong sense of aesthetics, and commitment to quality and functionality in apparel design.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with internal teams and school clients.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field; prior experience in uniform or kidswear design is an advantage.
