The Quality Generalist team conducts internal quality controls concerning particular areas or company products to ensure they fulfill given quality procedures and norms. Monitors and records inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms. Preparing quality analyses and recommends necessary quality procedure changes.
**This role in summary**
Lead all in region quality related issues for different home appliances categories like Air Conditioners, Washers, MWO .etc. This person will need to develop a close working relationship with our manufacturing partners.Provide leadership and guidance to the manufacturing partners to ensure that WOIL products are manufactured in accordance with Whirlpool specifications and meet Whirlpool quality standards.
Dealing with quality issues for EPI & NPI projects. Delivering PIQ (APQP) and PPAP according to the WPD process. Products include Room Air Conditioner, Washers, Microwave, Dishwasher . etc.
**Your responsibilities will include**
+ EPI /NPI Project management (APQP/PIQ), ensure external buy product development process meets project schedule & quality requirements.
+ Work with Cross functional teams - Commodity / Marketing / Engineering / Mfg Quality / SCM / Project Management including suppliers on new projects.
+ Quality contract discussion & finalization with the Commodity team.
+ Deliver PIQ (Purchase item qualification) & PPAP according to project schedule. Work with 3rd party to conduct the early production containment, to perform NPI inspection.
+ Manage information on supplier's quality performance metrics in the field & at Whirlpool's manufacturing divisions (SIR, PPM, CAL)
+ Identify supplier improvement and risk mitigation opportunities at key supplier sites and manage these improvement actiavities.
+ Drive team work for supplier performance improvement plans and interface with internal and external partners to collaboratively pursue solutions and closure of action plans.
+ Analysis of the quality performance & capability of Suppliers , Drive 8D & support line continuity.
+ Visit suppliers to perform process characterization & drive focus supplier improvement.
+ Witness the significant sample building for NPIs during product launch, solve the quality issues with a solid action plan, verify and validate the efficiency of action plans, to ensure products comply with Whirlpool's quality, performance, reliability and other requirements.
+ Conduct Quality System Audits on new suppliers & process audit (GTCA/GSQA)
+ Drive a quality culture aligned to Zero Defect with suppliers & process partners of the commodity space.
+ Supplier training on Whirlpool process & systems ( QC Tools, GSQRR, PIQ)
+ Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt will be preferred
**Minimum requirements**
+ Bachelor Degree or above in engineering (Mechanical)

**Your responsibilities will include:**
+ Responsible for developing strong relationships with key stakeholders within the corporate and factory levels and to execute strategic sourcing for commodities to drive value and significantly impact bottom-line profitability.
+ Develop detailed strategic approach to manage Strategic Commodities which may Include Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Coloured Finished Material & Prepainted Galvanized Iron (Steel commodity) as a commodity to set future targets across standards, cost, performance , warranty and Lead time

Whirlpool is looking for a qualified candidate for the role of Motor Expert (Senior Analyst) for the Laundry System team at the Pondicherry location.
This role will lead the development and validation of motor systems for semi-automatic, fully-automatic (top-load & front-load) washers and dryers. The candidate will be responsible for driving performance, cost, quality, and energy efficiency improvements across PSC, Universal, BPM (Inverter), and Direct Drive motor architectures, including Motor Control Unit (MCU) integration.
The role demands strong technical depth in electromechanical systems, cross-functional collaboration, and structured problem solving to ensure Whirlpool laundry products deliver differentiated performance, reliability, and energy efficiency in alignment with global standards.
**Your responsibilities will include:**
+ Lead motor system development and validation for new and existing laundry products (washers and dryers).
+ Define and optimize motor sizing, torque, and speed characteristics based on system performance requirements and product configurations.
+ Drive motor technology selection and standardization across platforms (PSC, Universal, BPM, Direct Drive).
+ Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to develop motor specifications, drawings, and validation plans.
+ Support Motor Control Unit (MCU) hardware/software integration for speed, torque, and efficiency optimization.
+ Conduct performance, reliability, and durability testing, analyzing data to identify improvement opportunities.
+ Work closely with Powertrain, NVH, and Controls teams to ensure motor designs meet performance and acoustic targets.
+ Perform DOE and simulation-based analysis to validate torque, current, and temperature performance under different load conditions.
+ Lead DFMEA, DVPR, and test plan creation for all motor and drive components.
+ Benchmark competitor products and identify opportunities for cost, quality, and innovation improvement.
+ Support resolution of field and quality issues, identify root causes, and define permanent corrective actions.
**Minimum requirements:**
