Senior Engineer, Analog Circuit Design
Job Description
Looking for an Engineer with good understanding of basic analog blocks, exposure to power FET technology and high voltage design rules. Candidate must be passionate to learn and lead the evolving topologies in power delivery applications across wide range of market. The candidate will join the 2.6B$ Power Business Unit where he/she will get to work on a wide range of high voltage products like isolated gate driver, HV Gan power stages, LV GaN drivers and power stages, powering the next generation of servers, motor drives solar inverters, EV traction inverters and chargers. This is an early-stage growth opportunity where in the candidate will get to learn, build and over time contribute and influence the charter for Renesas's massive Power product portfolio.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Understanding of MOS, Diodes and power FETs (LDMOS) in terms of characteristics, device physics and operating modes is an advantage.
+ Must have conceptual understanding of basic analog building blocks like Schmitt Trigger, Level Shifter, Bandgap References, Current Mirrors, Amplifiers, Comparators etc. Knowing common transistor level architectures will be advantageous.
+ Good understanding of Analog design concepts like mismatch, noise, gain, offset etc and/or understanding of transistor layout/fabrication process will be advantageous.
+ Deep understanding of Statistics and Statistical Distributions e.g. Normal, Uniform etc, Mismatch and Monte Carlo analysis will be advantageous.
+ Good understanding of ESD protection circuits for CMOS IC.
Qualifications
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering
+ 2-5 years of hands-on experience in analog circuit design.
+ Proven record of executing full-chip execution.
+ Should be able to handle full chip execution for devices like gate drivers
+ Courses in Analog Circuit Design, Simulation and Verification

Essential Functions:
+ Must be proficient in designing and owning complex I/Ps like +ve/-ve Charge Pumps, Buck Converters, Source-Sink LDOs, Ultra-low power Oscillators (including Relaxation type), Temperature Sensor, Current Sense, SAR ADCs, Protection (Thermal, Under-Voltage, Over-Voltage, Over Current etc) and analog blocks including Bandgap references, V2I, Analog Buffers, Op-Amps, Comparators, High speed level shifters etc.
+ Must have in-depth Understanding of and should be able to implement & compensate the Control Loops, Analog feedback loops and should know trade-offs between various compensation strategies.
+ Should be able to build/support Block level spec break down from Top level chip requirements and independently own, design complete switching converter e.g. Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost etc and LDOs. Must be able to do block level error budgeting depending on the block requirements.
+ Must be aware of relative differences of various control loop architectures (Constant Freq, Constant ON/OFF Time, Current mode etc) and decide/implement the best option to meet converter level performance specifications and other system requirements.
+ Must be able to bring in innovative ideas to improve designs to meet challenging specifications.
+ Should have in-depth knowledge of Analog layouts and be able to work closely with layout lead from floor planning till Chip Top completion and verification and do trade-offs based on desired performance

Besides communication, UWB is perfect for sensing/radar applications. For example, in child safety where UWB based Radar can detect periodic muscle movement such as breathing or general human presence. UWB Radar can also detect various movements around the Car such as kick to open the trunk, an intruder or an occupied seat. **About RF Transceiver Group in Connectivity:** Texas Instruments RF Connectivity group is expanding their RF Transceiver Design group. This group develops cutting edge RF Transceiver products (+MCU integrated) for Wireless-LAN (WIFI) and Ultra-Wideband Systems (UWB). The candidate will join in the UWB Design group. Candidate gets to experience Block Architecture Phase, Concept Design and take the design through the various design phases such as Schematic, Layout, Extracted simulations and Test and Verification.   • Work with layout engineers to ensure optimal placement and routing of analog blocks.
  • Characterize analog circuits, analyze test results, and debug silicon issues.

  • Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise.

Requirements
  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a focus on analog IC design.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in analog circuit design and silicon validation.
  • In-depth knowledge of CMOS analog circuit design techniques.
  • Proficiency in using Cadence design tools (Virtuoso, Spectre, Layout XL).
  • Experience with advanced nodes and mixed-signal integration.
  • Strong understanding of noise analysis, frequency response, and stability in analog circuits.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.

Job Description
Individual Contributor role for technical leader with 5+ years of experience in Analog and Power IC development within 2.6B$ Power Business Unit at Renesas. Primary responsibilities include leading the IP design blocks for development of power management ICs, including voltage regulators, power converters, and other related components and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration of ICs into larger systems. The candidate will work on a wide range of exciting and cutting edge PMICs, including Linear and Switching DC-DC converters powering the next generation of most sought-after phones and handheld devices. This is an early-stage growth opportunity where in the candidate will get to learn, build and over time contribute and influence the charter for Renesas's massive Power product portfolio. This is an IC role with complete focus on product development and no people management.
**Essential Functions:**
· Identify and resolve technical challenges and risks.
· Should have a very good understanding of Power devices, operations and design trade-offs for better performance & reliability.
· Should be able to lead development and integration of complex I/Ps like +ve/-ve Charge Pumps, Source-Sink LDOs, Ultra-low power Oscillators (including Relaxation type), Temperature Sensor, Current Sense, SAR ADCs, House Keeping blocks, Protection (Thermal, Under-Voltage, Over-Voltage, Over Current etc) and other analog blocks including Bandgap references, V2I, Analog Buffers, Op-Amps, Comparators, High speed level shifters etc. Thorough understanding of Switch Cap circuits is a must.
· Must have in-depth understanding of and should be able to choose, design & compensate Control loops keeping in mind the target performance.
· Must be able to bring in innovative ideas to improve designs to meet challenging specifications and achieve better system performance.
· Should have in-depth knowledge of Analog layouts, FET layouts, Noise isolation techniques and be able to guide the layout development from floor planning till Chip Top completion and verification and do trade-offs based on desired performance.
· Must be conversant with the standard design, extraction and simulation flows & tools, speed, convergence, accuracy trade-offs and should be able to optimize setups based on Pre/Post (with/without) Parasitic using simulator options, debug and navigate through tool related challenges.
· Should be able to setup design flows and methodologies including checklists, reviews to ensure quality designs and take them all the way to Silicon success.

· Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering
· 5+ years in Analog Circuit Design.
· Solid understanding and design experience of complex analog designs with full ownership.

Job Description

This is an early-stage growth opportunity where in the candidate will get to learn, build and over time contribute and influence the charter for Renesas's massive Power product portfolio. In the Technical leader role, candidate will be directly responsible for end-to-end IC design (from specifications to PRA). Will be expected to work with other team members to do successful Chips along with mentoring the junior members. This is an IC role with complete focus on product development and no people management.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Must have led and should be experienced of developing multiple Power ICs with Switching Converters, starting from system level specifications and taking ICs to production.
+ Identify and resolve technical challenges and risks. Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers. Able to lead group of Engineers and navigate through all stages of IC development while handling and mitigating challenges, ensuring high quality silicon while adhering to the schedules based on business needs.
+ Must be proficient in designing complete switching converters and all involved I/Ps. Should be fully aware of all challenges pertaining to high current/power switching converters design including Noise, Power dissipation etc and their mitigation.
+ Should have a very good understanding of Power devices, operations and design trade-offs for better performance & reliability.
+ Should be able to lead and guide development, integration of complex I/Ps like +ve/-ve Charge Pumps, Source-Sink LDOs, Ultra-low power Oscillators (including Relaxation type), Temperature Sensor, Current Sense, SAR ADCs, House Keeping blocks, Protection (Thermal, Under-Voltage, Over-Voltage, Over Current etc) and other analog blocks including Bandgap references, V2I, Analog Buffers, Op-Amps, Comparators, High speed level shifters etc. Thorough understanding of Switch Cap circuits is a must.

+ Must have done multiple silicon debugs, root cause analysis of issues, design to silicon correlation etc.
+ Should be able to architect the IC and break down System/Chip-top level requirements into block level specifications and then work with Team members and develop the blocks, integrate the blocks into Top level and ensure desired performance.
+ Must have good understanding of commonly used control loop architectures (Constant Freq, Constant ON/OFF Time, Current mode etc) and pros/limitations of each.
+ Must be able to bring in innovative ideas to improve designs to meet challenging specifications and achieve better system performance.
+ Should have in-depth knowledge of Analog layouts, FET layouts, Noise isolation techniques and be able to guide the layout development from floor planning till Chip Top completion and verification and do trade-offs based on desired performance.
