Key job responsibilities
As a Senior Signal Integrity Engineer, you will be part of Validation team that is exploring new hardware designs to improve our devices. In this role, you will be responsible for Signal Integrity aspects, compliance, and interoperability of package substrate, PCB, Cable solutions and system-level SI for interfaces like PCIe, DDR, Clocks etc. You will also be responsible for contributing to package and platform design guideline development.
You will work closely with multi-disciplinary groups including Board Design, System Architects, IP developers, and Design Engineering, to verify and deliver complex, high volume SoCs that enable development of world-class hardware devices. In this role, you will be:
- Responsible for defining the design guidelines for internal and external design teams and delivering reference simulation docs for customers
- Performing modeling of package substrate/PCB channels elements in 3D/2D EM simulation tools.
- Working with silicon designers, platform designers, package designers, electrical validation teams, etc. to support interconnect and interface performance requirements.
- Reviewing and evaluating package and board design and providing review feedback.
- Responsible for providing power delivery solutions across platform, package and SOC level
- Definition of worst-case currents and voltage drop scenarios, MIM/decoupling allocation, grid choices and analysis, droop control, SOC ESD compliance, On-die droop detectors, usage of on-die delivery solutions like VR, LDO, and Power gates.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or electrical engineering
- 10+ years in working on validation of ASIC/SoC products
- High speed serial interface analog building blocks, protocol, specifications and test methods
- Familiarity with Simulation tools (ADS, HFSS, PowerSI, PowerDC, Hyperlynx) to execute SI-PI simulations is required.
- Experience with performing measurement, and correlating measurements to simulations.
- Experience with modeling and simulation of high-speed interface interconnects/channel.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Understanding of Power & signal integrity concepts such as differential impedance, jitter, insertion loss, return loss, termination, etc.
- Scripting experience in any programming language (C++, Python, PERL, MATLAB) to develop automation scripts is a plus.
- Experience in Analog IP Characterization (SerDes, PLL, DDR) is desirable.
- Good understanding of High-Speed Analog/Digital Circuits, VLSI, semiconductor physics

Job Description:
**Job Overview**
As a **Product Dvl Engineer in the Signal Integrity team** you will focus on the electrical design, simulation, and verification-validation testing of high speed products in the connector and/or cable assembly, radio system industry-targeting high speed communications and connectivity within datacenters and wireless infrastructure. You will be expected to independently work on projects in the areas of signal integrity for product and system design including modeling, simulation, testing and circuit board layout. You will work collaboratively within a broader cross functional team of mechanical, manufacturing, & operations to execute leading edge products designs. You will be the subject matter expert for the signal integrity performance of a product/platform beginning with the initial analysis through prototype fabrication & evaluation, and production verification testing. You will tackle challenging design problems and utilize simulation tools to guide complex designs toward success.
**Roles & Responsibilities:**
- Subject matter expert in signal integrity design, simulation and validation activities through product development cycles
- Establishing signal integrity design performance/functional requirements for new products
- Performing signal integrity simulations for multiple high-speed standards on each product. This includes determining the correct simulation methodology and setup to use, as well as a good understanding of the criteria for each interface.
- Performing PCB design schematic and layout reviews
- Creating actionable recommendations based upon design reviews and simulation results
- Guiding connector design and component qualifications from a signal integrity standpoint. Making data driven decisions about the product functionality and areas for improvement.
**Must Have Skills:**
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- 8 years of relevant work experience in electrical design, RF design, or PCB design
- Proficient with signal integrity analysis tools (Agilent ADS, Ansys HFSS, CST, or equivalent tools)
- A solid understanding of electromagnetic theory and electrical circuit behavior
- Strong analytical capabilities to interpret simulation and lab data to identify issues and provide solutions to fix identified problem.
- Familiarity with printed circuit board design, fabrication and assembly.
- Fluent in English (both verbal and written) to facilitate global communication both internally and with external customers.
- Ability to work in a global environment - able to accommodate varying time zones and capable of collaborating with individuals across geographies.
- Individual must be highly motivated, a quick learner, and able to work independently
**Nice to Have Skills/Experience:**
- Experience with interconnect design, including socket/connector/cable/cable assembly design (high-speed twinax cables, direct attach copper (DAC) cables), and/or RF antenna, RF sub-system
- Design experience with communication systems (high-speed servers, switches, routers, storage, antennas, RF front end or similar systems)

  • Utilize electromagnetic (EM) field solvers and circuit simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS HFSS, Keysight ADS, SIwave) for signal integrity analysis.
  • Develop and optimize PCB stack-ups, trace routing strategies, and via structures to minimize signal degradation.
  • Define and validate electrical requirements for high-speed interfaces (e.g., PCIe, DDR, USB, SerDes).
  • Perform eye diagram analysis, jitter analysis, and insertion/return loss measurements.
  • Collaborate closely with PCB layout designers to ensure designs meet signal integrity requirements.
  • Conduct pre- and post-layout simulations and correlation with hardware measurements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot signal integrity issues in hardware prototypes.
  • Develop test plans and procedures for signal integrity validation.
  • Stay current with emerging high-speed interconnect technologies and SI challenges.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in signal integrity analysis and high-speed digital design.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard SI simulation tools (e.g., Ansys SIwave, Keysight ADS, Cadence Allegro Sigrity).
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, transmission line theory, S-parameters, and impedance matching.
  • Experience with measurement equipment such as high-speed oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and TDRs.
  • Familiarity with PCB design flows and constraints.
  • Knowledge of differential signaling and common-mode noise mitigation techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with power integrity analysis is a plus.
