Role Synopsis:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will join the bpTSI discipline engineering team to provide deep electrical engineering expertise, oversight, judgment and support to the Production & Operations (P&O) bp Solutions (bpS) Site Projects Team. This role is based at the bp Pune office but may also require contractor facing work at major engineering contractor offices intermittently.

  • Provide electrical engineering expertise within the P&O bp Solutions Site Projects teams.
  • Deliver, support, review, and approve technical deliverables in service of site projects, across all phases of project execution
  • Support the Site Projects Team and Engineering Contractor(s) to deliver electrical engineering scopes, including to
  • provide technical oversight, review, guidance and approval of design engineering and construction contractor deliverables
  • electrical equipment specification and selection as well as engineering package technical content
  •  review technical bid analysis of equipment.
  • provide technical evaluations of requests for exceptions/deviations to specifications or standards.
  • determine risks to project delivery and ensure adequate risk mitigation plans are in place
  •  provide electrical engineering expertise to project MoCs and to site projects / modifications
  • assure quality and consistency in electrical equipment delivery on projects
  • Review of Vendor documents and drawings
  •  Assist in preparation of factory acceptance test (FAT) and site acceptance test (SAT) plans.
  • Lead resolution of complex technical issues for electrical equipment.
  • Support other engineers in the ICE discipline engineering team to deliver electrical engineering expertise through mentoring, coaching and peer review
  • Coach earlier career engineers to aid in their technical and professional development
  • Provide visible safety leadership in accordance with bp safety leadership principles, lifesaving rules and process safety fundamentals to model desired safety culture and behaviors
  • Record relevant lessons learned in the bp shared learning system, escalate as necessary and incorporate into local activities, both in the discipline engineering community as well as the site projects teams; and follow through to drive incorporation into specifications, practices and procedures
  • Support performance management through implementation, measurement, and analysis of relevant KPI’s to drive continuous improvement.Must have educational qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

  • 12 years in oil and gas/petrochemical/ refining/ chemical or equivalent, with minimum eight (8) years’ experience of Engineering work in Capital projects. Strong preference will be given to experience in brownfield projects.

What you will deliver

  • Provides ICE subject area expertise related to instrumented protective systems and process controls in support of the TSI based region squads and solutions program activity

  • Define and deliver the Self-Verification of owned Engineered Barriers and Performance Standards

  • Provides ICE expertise to ensure that cyber security risk controls are in place on all regional automation systems and that associated barriers are proactively handled

  • Ensures that the inspection, testing, maintenance and condition monitoring tasks in CMMS and Operator Workbench are aligned with the technical intent of Equipment Strategies

  • Develops and updates the technical content of Equipment Strategies based on equipment performance feedback and performs periodic review of CMMS and Operator Workbench efficiency

  • Performs reliability analysis for instrument, control and electrical equipment using surveillance, maintenance and condition monitoring data, and trends performance metrics

  • Leads on resolution of complex, multi-discipline technical issues where the dominant component is instrumentation and control equipment

  • Assures quality and consistency of surveillance and accurate reporting of excursions

  • Reviews and approves discipline-owned critical document updates including but not limited to P&ID, PFD, Operating Procedures and Cause and Effects

  • Deliver the technical requirements that underpin the agreements with supplier for control and instrumentation including company standard requirements and Functional Design Specifications. Work directly with MACs (Main Automation Contractors) and MIC (Main Instrument Contractors) on implementation of Joint Development Plan

  • Plans and provide technical feedback to MAC / MIC performance to support the implementation of the Main Automation Contractor and Main Instrumentation Contractor strategy on projects

  • Work with projects, operations and suppliers to resolve control and instrument technical and supply issues as required

  • Records relevant findings in shared learning systems, incorporates into local activities and escalates high priority lessons

  • Participates to digitalization initiatives by defining the operational needs for the subject area and actively contribute for the design, development and implementation of the digital solution

- Scripting experience in any programming language (C++, Python, PERL, MATLAB) to develop automation scripts is a plus.
- Experience in Analog IP Characterization (SerDes, PLL, DDR) is desirable.

# Project Overview:
Louisiana LNG (LALNG) is a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility (the Facility) on the west bank of the Calcasieu River near Carlyss, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. The Facility will include five (5) liquefaction plants capable of producing up to max. 27 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG for export. The project will also include three (3) full containment LNG tanks and three (3) jetties that will support LNG carriers.Bechtel India's Construction function is inviting applications from construction professionals with Electrical Field Engineering and construction management experience for the position of
Supplier Quality Field Engineer Electrical role on LA LNG project supported from our Vadodara office.
# Job Summary:
The Supplier Quality Field Engineer Electrical is responsible for providing technical reviews and quality assurance and quality control verification of the electrical scope of work for all vendor and subcontract supplied equipment, including electrical components installed on large equipment packages. This includes the vendor/subcontractor shop fabrication inspection, installation and testing of all materials and equipment. The role /position is based in Vadodara office and will require extended periods of international business travel.
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Review material requisitions and purchase orders and establish a quality surveillance program to assure all installations and documentation is compliant with relevant standards.
+ Work under the Procurement team and conduct shop visits to ensure vendors and subcontractors understand and in compliance with the technical requirements.
+ Conduct shop inspections and identify non-compliant fabrication / assembly / installation
+ Assist Supplier Quality team in developing technical reports of shop inspection, punch list and, coordinate with Engineering, Supplier, SQ and facilitate closure of NCRs prior to dispatch of equipment
+ Ensure correct documentation is provided by the vendors and subcontractors for any materials and equipment they provide.
+ Co-ordinate inspection and receipt of equipment
+ Review of detailed inspection reports.
+ Provide responses to technical inquiries.
+ Interface with Home Office Engineering, Procurement and Construction
# Education and Experience Requirements:
+ A recognized degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
+ Minimum 10-15 years of EPC experience or 20 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
# Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Demonstrated strong electrical field engineering experience on a major capital project in Oil & Gas industry.
+ Knowledgeable of IEC, NEC and NFPA Codes and Standards.
+ Experienced in electrical installation, knowledge of various electrical bulks, experienced in construction testing of electrical installations.
+ Auditing and QA qualifications preferred.
+ CM experience and experience with LNG facility preferred.
+ Working knowledge of P&IDs, Ele. Single Line Diagrams, Schematic drawings.
+ Knowledge of Bechtel organization and Field Engineering roles is preferred.
+ Proficient in MS Office and knowledge of applications like 3D Model.
