Responsibilities:

Architect our next generation product's power system
·
Design experiments to test off-the-shelf power solutions
·
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to converge on the right solution
·
Validate solutions on safety, performance, cost, and supply chain availability
·
Generate specifications, document them, and iterate with the team to finalize
·
Interface with power solution providers to specify and source solutions
·
Manage key suppliers
·
Collaborate with peers in mechanical and electrical design, controls, software, human-machine interface, and more
·
Work closely with product team on developing product requirements
·
Lead design reviews and present your work periodically to the company
·
Present findings and recommendations to the company
Who You are:
You are a seasoned power systems engineer with over 10 years of experience in designing, sourcing and deploying power solutions in production. You thrive in a collaborative environment and in solving challenging technical problems.
You have hands-on experience in the following:

Deep understanding of battery chemistry and their trade-offs
·
In-depth knowledge of battery safety requirements
·
In-depth knowledge of thermal considerations for battery packs
·
Deep understanding of battery life-cycle management
·
Specifying charging solutions
·
Super capacitors and their power and charging requirements
·
Power rails, their trade-offs and tradeoffs
·
Architecting power systems for mobile robots
·
Specifying, sourcing, testing, validating and implementing power solutions
·
Authoring architectural and technical documentation
·
Design and development of battery management systems (BMS)
