Based in our Pune Office
The primary responsibility for the successful candidate will be providing day to day support for the Fusion system. The successful candidate will have significant development or architectural experience creating and maintaining applications through all stages of the software release life cycle. The ability to perform configuration, coding, testing, and implementation tasks while meeting deadlines must be demonstrated. This candidate must have the ability to work collaboratively with teams and effectively interact with Project Manager, Lead Technical Analysts, Technical developers, and Business team.
There is a secondary responsibility which is assisting with the support of the PeopleSoft (PS) Financial system. There is a four-person team that has primary responsibility of supporting the PS Financial system. The Hyperion resource will become an additional resource to the team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoots operational and systems issues ranging from simple to highly complex, including problems with multiple solutions and potential significant consequences.
- Works in coordination and collaboration with other information technology (IT) staff to develop and implement or recommend the implementation of appropriate solutions to complex problems.
- Ensures performance optimization.
- Writes technical specifications, configures, customizes, builds, and tests Hyperion configuration and customizations.

Role Synopsis:
The Rotating Equipment Engineer will join the bp TSI discipline engineering team to provide deep engineering expertise, oversight, judgment and support to Production & Operations (P&O), bp Solutions (bpS) - Site Projects Team.
A Rotating Equipment Engineer with experience supporting site-based projects in oil and Gas/refinery operations. Well-versed in the selection, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of rotating machinery packages such as pumps, compressors, Steam and Gas turbines, Diesel engines, and gearboxes etc. . Demonstrates strong expertise in interpreting P&IDs, datasheets, and technical specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements and industry standards (API, ASME, ISO).
Experienced in executing capital projects involving brownfield modifications as well as greenfield facilities. Also experienced in supporting turnaround and shutdown activities,
Experienced in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, collaborating and driving delivery with others whilst working remotely, and ensuring mechanical integrity, safety compliance, and timely delivery of project milestones. Brings a hands-on approach to resolving equipment-related issues in high-pressure environments, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
Proven track record of working closely with EPC contractors, vendors, and OEMs during project phases, from engineering design through construction and commissioning. Committed to delivering reliable, cost-effective solutions that support asset productivity and sustainability goals.
Proactively interact with other disciplines, squads, subfunctions and contractors to systematically resolve problems, applying informed engineering judgment to drive integrated, pragmatic solutions focused on risk management, production efficiency, defect elimination, & standardization
Ensure Engineering activities appropriately apply BP standards and processes such as Fit for Service and CVP (Capital value process).
What you will deliver
Provide Rotating Equipment engineering expertise to P&O bp Solutions Site Projects teams. Providing REE discipline review as needed to ensure small projects and modifications. Adhere to regulatory requirements, appropriate BP specifications, quality management requirements, and lifecycle operability standards.
Support hazard identification and risk assessment studies associated with revalidations of small projects, or modifications for existing assets (e.g.,MoCs, HAZOPs, LOPAs, HAZIDs, Human Factors Analysis and What Ifs). Support safety related actions assigned REE actions associated with HAZOP/LOPA findings ,HVL’s, Alert bulletins, audit findings , and complex engineering studies.
Support the Site Projects Team and Engineering Contractor to deliver Rotating Equipment scopes in front-end loading (FEL) and detailed engineering of projects, including to:
Provide technical oversight, review, guidance and approval of design engineering and construction contractor deliverables. Ensure that Engineering Contractor(s) apply bp’s Engineering Practices in engineering designs
Equipment specification in requisition/datasheets and selection as well as engineering package technical content.
Review of technical bid analysis of Rotating equipment/packages. Provide technical evaluations of requests for exceptions/deviations to specifications or standards.
Determine risks to project delivery and ensure adequate risk mitigation plans are in place.
Work with an engineering contractor(s) to verify they are performing required
activities in line with project schedules, and assist bp’s Engineering Manager in
contract performance management.

Must have educational qualifications:

The Senior Process Safety Engineer will join the Projects India organisation in the engineering and quality team to provide engineering expertise, oversight, judgment and support to Production & Operations (P&O) Projects.
The role is based at the Pune office but will require significant contractor facing work at major engineering contractor office locations in both India and possibly ex-India.
What you will deliver
Support the development of the technical scope of project options to ensure selection and progression of safe, competitive and robust projects
Be responsible for Process Safety engineering activity on the projects in support of an Inherently Safer Design (ISD) and application of specific safety features developed during the project phases
Provide technical guidance and advice to the Project team; support technical and engineering scope development and decision making with process safety impacts
Develop and implement Process Safety Philosophy for projects in cooperation with the contractors
Develop and implement the Design Hazard Management Plan for projects
Manage the delivery of Process Safety deliverables; provide verification of key process safety deliverables by engineering contractors in terms of quality and conformance with project requirements; provide oversight of performance of contractor for process safety scope
Prescribe appropriate BP approved design methods and procedures, support preparation and participate in key areas such as HAZOP, LOPA, HAZID and environmental reviews where necessary; assist project teams in application
Consult with project team, Technical Authorities and functional specialists as appropriate on key issues of risk, engineering integrity, project specifications and significant issues of potential exceptions/non-compliance
Maintain knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations relevant to process systems and process safety; ensure deviations from BP standards, project specifications and processes are identified, justified and deviations processed in accordance with appropriate procedures
Engage and manage process safety functional support and third-party consultants as necessary to support assurance and design
Support process safety capability and competence through the active mentoring, coaching and training of other process safety engineers.
What you will need to be successful

The PSI Engineer RBI supports RBI implementation and sustain through reassessment, damage mechanism reviews (DMR), inspection plan development, condition monitoring location (CML) identification, inspection data management system (IDMS), inspection grading, RBI calibration, mechanical integrity assessment, remaining life and fitness for service (FFS). This is a technical role, expected to proactively support assigned assets for their successful RBI implementation, management and ever-greening, engaging with other subject areas, sub-functions, and contractors to implement the pace setter RBI processes. The role is expected to support the assigned assets via proactive data driven analysis, continuous improvement of integrity processes, coaching and technical support and guidance for PSI engineers, Corrosion and materials engineers on RBI excellence and applications, ever greening of our integrity strategies and embedding continuous improvement and learning into our RBI standard technical practices. What you will deliver
Field Related:
- Develop RBI Methodology Documents, such as Management System and Technical Instructions consistent with industry standard processes and regulatory requirements.
- Implement RBI programs in commercially available inspection data management systems (IDMS). Supervise their sustained health and lead self verification practices and critical metrics around it.
- Perform risk analysis, updating RBI inspection plans, and ever greening the RBI analysis.
- Verify RBI data quality and assumptions through quality audits.
- Participate in damage mechanism assessments/reviews and identify damage mechanisms.
- Participate/perform fixed equipment system and circuitization.
- Determine inspection and test plans for fixed equipment and piping.

Job Purpose:
• Assess the quality of engineering data, documents and models in ALIM proposing corrections to engineering to improve integrity of the design associated to assets and projects across P&O globally.
• Implement effective controls for internal delegation, audit and control of the quality of engineering data, documents and models in ALIM based on engineering standards and procedures and through working with the Engineering Data Subject area Lead and Engineering.

Let me tell you about the role:The tank focused Pressure Systems Integrity Engineer supports the tank RBI implementation and sustainability, tank integrity assessments and supporting our production and operations assets requests related to storage tanks and pressure systems. This is a technical role, expected to proactively support assigned assets for their successful RBI implementation, management and ever-greening, engaging with otherfieldss, sub-functions, and contractors to implement the pace setter RBI processes.
The role is expected to support the assigned assets via proactive data driven analysis, continuous improvement of integrity processes, coaching and technical support and guidance for PSI, mechanical, maintenance and reliability engineers on Tank RBI excellence and applications, ever-greening of the bp’s tank integrity strategies and embedding continuous improvement and learning into our RBI standard technical practices.

What you will deliver:Discipline Related:
- Develop and maintain tank related and tank RBI methodology documents, such as management system and technical instructions consistent with industry standard processes and regulatory requirements.
- Support the tank inspection optimization and standardization activities, develop the optimization opportunities, work instructions and job aides as required and needed
- Implement Tank RBI programs in commercially available software tools and maintaining the inspection data management systems (IDMS) synchronicity. Supervise the sustained health and lead self-verification practices and KPIs around it.
- Perform risk analysis, updating RBI inspection plans, and ever-greening the Tank RBI analysis.
- Verify Tank RBI data quality and assumptions through quality audits.
- Facilitate damage mechanism assessments/reviews and identify damage mechanisms.
- Support global integrity programs implementation and works with operating sites
- Resolve inspection and test plans for tanks.
- Review inspection results and updating tank RBI data and re-assessment of the risk including the reviewing of results with the site representatives for final acceptance
- Maintaining the bp tank database including adding new tanks, removing demolished tanks and gathering MOC’s affecting critical tank data
- Participate/perform mechanical integrity (MI) gap assessments and audits.
- Develop work processes/flow and conduct training.
- Support the capability development in the areas of tanks, including development and delivery of training materials and coaching site users
- Participate in the tank community to promote sharing of knowledge, experience and standard processes across P&O.
- Work with bp technical teams to resolve defects and performance issues of MI systems and RBI tools.
- Support and fully engages with TAR, Projects, Maintenance, Operations, and Integrity teams as required for scope development.
- Provide support for global implementation of Tank RBI improvements, including contractor management and oversight.

- Supports performance management through implementation, measurement and analysis of relevant KPI’s to drive continuous improvement
- Maintains a relationship with the wider integrity and tank maintenance community to share lessons learned with a view to continuous improvement of practices, procedures, workflow or specifications.
- Provide consistent RBI performance management and insights to discipline leadership and asset leadership
- Assist with Inspection Information Management
- Provide visible safety leadership in accordance with bp safety leadership principles, lifesaving rules and process safety fundamentals to model desired safety behaviors
- Record relevant learning in shared learning systems, incorporate into local activities, specifications/ practices/ procedures and raise high priority lessons
- Support performance management through implementation, measurement, and analysis of relevant KPI’s to drive continuous improvement.
Must have education requirements:
BSc or BEng (UK), BSc (US), or international equivalent in an engineering field
Must have certifications:API653 and/or EEMUA 159 (tank inspector and/or assessor)
Preferred education/certifications:- BSc or BEng (UK), BSc (US), or international equivalent in an engineering field around materials, corrosion, mechanical, civil.
- 8+ years of relevant technical field experience in oil/gas or petrochemical industries, tanks, pressure systems integrity management and RBI
- Understand tank integrity strategy concepts and have a strong solid understanding of codes such as API 575, 620, 650, API 653 and EEMUA 159.
- Proven understanding of other codes such as API 510, 570, 571, 579, 653, ASME VIII, B31, PCC-2, ANST, PCN and ANSI.
- Preferably certified in API 580, 510, 570 and 571.
- Understanding of O&G integrity damaging mechanisms, risk evaluation, remaining life evaluations, FFS understanding
- Knowledge of Tank RBI Methodology and its practical application.
- Hands-on experience executing tank maintenance and repair plans for storage tanks.
- Deep knowledge of storage tank RBI implementation.
- Experience with Inspection data management systems (IDMS)
- Skilled on creating technical documents.
- Good expertise on optimally applying qualitative RBI analysis methodologies
- Experience damage mechanism assessment in the oil and gas industry.
- Working experience with conventional and sophisticated NDT applications and limitations.
- Working experience in inspection, test, and preventive maintenance development as applicable to the recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEPs).
- Experience applying (tank) RBI software systems, and inspection data management systems (IDMS) such as GE APM.
- Experience in tank engineering assessments based on EEMUA 159 and/or API650/653
- Strong spreadsheet, project scheduling, and database skills
- Ability to create and maintain reliable customer relationships.
- People leadership, teamwork, communication skills and an ability to network and influence across organizational boundaries.
- Fluent in English, written and oral.
- Familiar with process design, process safety, and operating conditions of typical Oil&Gas units
