Let me tell you about the role

The Mechanical Engineer serves as the primary point of contact for technical support of their assigned Asset(s). This includes troubleshooting emerging equipment issues and designing solutions for equipment repairs. The ME will collaborate with their asset team (maintenance and operations) and other engineering disciplines to support their area’s mechanical integrity and reliability needs.

What you will deliver

  • Proficient in industry standards and codes (ASME and API).

  • Design permanent and temporary repair solutions for equipment (piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, etc.) based on their appropriate industry standards and codes

  • Utilizes knowledge of corrosion damage mechanisms and modes of failure in design for reliable solutions

  • Applies reliability principles in making decisions for equipment repairs

  • Responsible for engineering deliverables such as:

  • Piping and pressure vessel design

  • Equipment fitness for service assessments

  • Field support for maintenance and operational troubleshooting

  • Supporting personal and process safety, including management of change

  • Support Asset maintenance to ensure accuracy in preventative maintenance planning and sparing strategies

  • Understand Asset equipment and processes to properly monitor unit health

  • Provide mechanical engineering and integrity input for Asset outages and Turnarounds

  • Expectation to uphold bp’s safety culture and beliefs

What you will need to be successful

Must have educational qualifications:

  • Mechanical Engineering degree and relevant knowledge and experience to refinery equipment is preferred

Must have certifications:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience

  • Prior work experience functioning as a Unit Mechanical Engineer at an oil refinery (onsite)

  • Practical application of ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, ASME PCC-1/PCC-2, NBIC, API 570, API 571, API 510, API 579 (Level 2)

Role Synopsis:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will join Projects India organisation in the engineering and quality team to provide deep mechanical engineering expertise, oversight, judgment and support to Production & Operations (P&O) Projects. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead the bp team performance managing the contractor and supervising their technical work to select, design, procure, install and commission the appropriate mechanical pressure systems required for the project. This includes piping, valves, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, mechanical handling equipment and HVAC systems for production facilities. The role is based at the Pune office but will require significant contractor facing work at major engineering contractor office locations in both India and possibly ex-India.

What you will deliver

Lead mechanical engineering team to deliver safe design of cost effective, quality and competitive projects.

  • Lead, oversee and performance manage the Projects mechanical engineering team and Engineering Contractor(s) to deliver mechanical engineering scopes, including:
  • Provide technical oversight, review, guidance and approval of mechanical engineering design contractor deliverables.
  • Provide requirements for mechanical equipment specification in requisitions/datasheets and selection as well as engineering package technical content.
  • Review and recommend technical bid analysis for mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Make technical decisions on requests for exceptions/deviations to specifications or standards.
  • Lead technical recommendations and guidance to equipment suppliers performance and delivery,
  • Provide leadership in addressing design issues with considerations of safety, cost, schedule, and quality o Work with engineering contractor(s) to verify they are performing required activities in line with project processes and schedules, and assist bp’s Engineering Manager in contract performance management o Ensure that Engineering Contractor(s) apply bp’s Engineering Practices and industry standards in engineering designs o Assure quality and consistency in mechanical engineering and equipment delivery on projects o Approval of vendor Inspection and Test Plans, documents and drawings
  • Accountable for preparation of mechanical equipment for factory acceptance test (FAT) and site acceptance test (SAT) plans
  • Record and share relevant findings
  • Lead resolution of complex mechanical engineering technical challenges.
  • Lead other engineers in the mechanical engineering subject area team to deliver scope through mentoring, coaching and peer reviews.
  • Coach earlier career engineers to aid in their technical and professional development.
  • Interface with other disciplines, construction, commissioning and operations teams for mechanical design.
What you will need to be successful
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Preferred education/certifications:
  • Chartered Engineer or Registered Professional Engineer
Minimum years of relevant experience:
  • Min of 10 years in oil and gas/petrochemical/ refining/ chemical or equivalent, with minimum 5 years proven experience of Leading Mechanical Engineering work in Major Capital projects.

  • Experience as competency assessed lead engineer in client or contractor organisation
  • Deep discipline expertise with good track record of multi subject area integration.

Let me tell you about the role
The role is primarily focused on providing technical support on valves, piping and other static mechanical equipment to the Global Facilities Hardware Team. Ensure standardized specifications and requirements aligned with industry norms and key BP learnings are available, maintained and consistently applied.
This role includes working with projects and operations on the implementation of the standard valve specifications and datasheets and providing technical input on behalf of the Valve Global Product Team. Will provide support to projects with completing call offs and ensuring the right standardization activity is completed with respect to valves. It will also be required to support further improvement and development of the valve procurement strategy and associated technical and quality requirements.
The role also involves supporting investigations of valve problems, providing recommendations for improvements regarding valve selection, design, manufacture, fabrication, operation and maintenance and assess valve related anomalies when needed.
What you will deliver
•    Support Projects and Operations with technical input to valve related issues, evaluation of valve packages and other piping material.
•    Review of vendor documents.
•    Engineering support to Projects throughout complete life cycle.
•    Support GIS interpretation on valve design and procurement
•    Provide advice in detailed design to review and match Project requirements with standardization agenda
•    Ensure that engineering is undertaken with rigor
•    Be proactive in identifying opportunities through the themes of Continuous Improvement and Discipline Excellence
•    Participate with impact on key Engineering Design Reviews, Project HSSE Reviews, and HAZID/HAZOP reviews in discipline subject
•    Participate in valve incident investigations
•    Demonstrate compliance with HSSE expectations
•    Actively participate in the Mechanical Network and Valve Community of Practice
•    Provide support to Front End Engineering (FEED) activities.
•    Supervision of 3rd party activities & contractors carried out on behalf of the team

Intent

This role focuses on providing mechanical engineering support for Turnaround (TAR) projects at a bp Refinery. This includes developing engineering deliverables, ensuring adherence to specifications, conducting technical evaluations, and collaborating with various stakeholders to facilitate efficient TAR execution

Responsibilities

Engineering Deliverables & Coordination:

  • Receive assignments from Lead TAR Engineers and access bp refinery systems for required documentation and specifications.

  • Interface with TAR engineers, planners, inspection teams, SMEs, operations, and asset personnel.

  • Regularly update the TAR Engineering Deliverable Register (EDR) and communicate status with the Lead TAR Engineer.

Material Specifications & Procurement:

  • Develop Engineered Material Specifications, bid packages, and oversee specialty material selection.

  • Ensure compliance with refinery specifications, documentation, and the Management of Change (MOC) process.

  • Prepare bid packages and collaborate with procurement for vendor selection and budgetary estimates.

  • Evaluate vendor bids and make technical recommendations to the local refinery team

Heat Exchanger & Pressure Vessel Engineering:

  • Develop and validate HTRI models for heat exchanger design modifications.

  • Prepare engineering work packages for planned repairs and alterations of pressure vessels and exchangers.

  • Perform FEL engineering for planned repairs, including modifications like machine nubbins, gasket upgrades, and nozzle additions.

  • Conduct pressure vessel rerates and necessary calculations to support TAR work.

Piping Engineering & Analysis:

  • Identify and clarify specifications for piping, valves, gaskets, bolting, and materials.

  • Assist TAR planners in determining equivalent pipe specifications based on P&IDs, heritage specs, and refinery standards.

  • Perform pipe stress analysis for complex piping changes or metallurgy upgrades to assess potential impacts.

  • Work with TAR planning and bp pipe surveying team (or equivalent) to obtain piping models for analysis.

Flanged Joint Torque & Assurance:

  • Utilize refinery-specific torque calculation tools for heat exchangers and specialty piping/equipment.

  • Develop critical torque summaries and review with the Lead TAR Engineer or Asset Senior Mechanical Engineer.

Management of Change (MOC) Participation:

  • Support MOC processes for engineering changes, including risk reviews and evaluations.

  • Ensure compliance while coordinating with local personnel for final implementation.

Provision of mechanical engineering expertise and judgment in service of the global programs, operating facilities, brownfield site projects and assets, collaborating with offshore and onshore facilities regional squads to ensure efficient resolution of all issues that require field engineering input. What you will deliver
  • Provide mechanical engineering (ME) expertise to TAR, Site Projects, Production & Refinery Units and Squads to support safe, reliable, compliant, and efficient operations.

  • Develop effective, safe, and cost conscious technical solutions to the assigned Connexus Queries and Regional Actions within the allocated time and support their implementation through eMOC (electronic management of change) with clear communication to key stakeholders throughout the process

  • Perform and review complex or non-routine mechanical engineering calculations and analyses.

  • Perform technical review & approval of new equipment purchases

  • Provides expertise in managing the integrity of equipment including piping, pressure vessels, bolting, valves, and heat exchangers.

  • Review and provide assurance that the inspection, testing, maintenance and condition monitoring tasks in SAP are aligned with the technical intent of Equipment Strategies.

  • Analyze equipment performance using process, operator surveillance, maintenance, inspection and condition-monitoring data to ensure equipment is delivering the required performance aligned with the Equipment Strategy, RBM and RBA/RBI work processes and make recommendations for improvement of equipment performance, as required.

  • Perform risk and cost benefit analyses to ensure safe and clear value delivery

  • Participate in risk assessments, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, LOPA, Project HSSE Reviews and provide input on critical equipment deferrals and asset risk management.

  • Record relevant learnings in shared learning systems, integrate them into local activities and escalate high priority lessons.

  • Actively participate and present in BP technical networks & communities of practice, maintaining a strong awareness of technical learnings, share lessons learned, present safety moments, and have close links with specialists and engineers of all disciplines, both within I&E and across other parts of bp.

What you will need to be successful

Must have educational qualifications:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

The Mechanical Engineer will join the bpTSI discipline engineering team to provide deep mechanical engineering expertise, oversight, judgment and support to Production & Operations (P&O) bp Solutions (bpS) Site Projects Team.

What you will deliver
  • Provide static mechanical and piping engineering expertise to P&O bp Solutions Site Projects teams

  • Support the Site Projects Team and Engineering Contractor to deliver static mechanical and piping engineering scopes in front-end loading (FEL) and detailed engineering of projects, including to:

  • provide technical oversight, review, guidance and approval of design engineering and construction contractor deliverables

  • equipment specification in requisition/datasheets and selection as well as engineering package technical content

  • review technical bid analysis of equipment

  • provide technical evaluations of requests for exceptions/deviations to specifications or standards

  • determine risks to project delivery and ensure adequate risk mitigation plans are in place

  • work with engineering contractor(s) to verify they are performing required activities in line with project schedules, and assist bp’s Engineering Manager in contract performance management

  • ensure that Engineering Contractor(s) apply bp’s Engineering Practices in engineering designs

  • determine risks to project delivery and ensure adequate risk mitigation plans are in place

  • provide mechanical expertise to project MoCs

  • assure quality and consistency in static mechanical and equipment/package delivery and piping design on projects

  • Review of Vendor Quality Control Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, documents and drawings

  • Assist in preparation of factory acceptance test (FAT) and site acceptance test (SAT) plans

  • record and share relevant learnings

  • Provide mechanical expertise, technical support and facilitate as necessary in hazard identification and risk assessment processes, such as HAZID, HAZOP, and LOPA

What you will need to be successful Must have educational qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or demonstrated equivalent)

Preferred education/certifications:
  • Chartered Engineer or registered professional engineer

Minimum years of relevant experience:
  • 8 years in oil and gas/petrochemical/ refining/ chemical or equivalent, with minimum five (5) years experience of Engineering work in Capital projects. Strong preference will be given to experience in brownfield projects.

Position Overview
Boeing India Engineering has an immediate opening for an **Associate Electronics RF Design and Analysis Engineer** to work in areas of RF design. This position offers a unique opportunity to work complex technical challenges in support of safety operation and return to service.
This role will be based out of Bangalore, India.
Position Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for RF and mixed signal designs.
+ Design and simulate RF circuits for cellular modules including LNAs, filters, Diplexers, switching and matching networks.
+ Perform testing and validation of RF components and systems - RF amplifiers, filters, and antennas - to validate performance against specifications.
+ Perform RF validation, tuning, and debugging using tools such as VNA, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators
+ Perform simulation of filters and antenna synthesis using tools like Ansys HFSS
+ Perform circuit design, requirements and interface definition and design verification.
+ Design to meet EMI/EMC, safety and environmental compliance.
+ Develop and optimize RF systems supporting Wifi,4G LTE and 5G.
+ Execute testing of designs in Labs for functional, performance and stress environments apart from system integration
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)
+ Bachelor's or Master's Degree is required as a basic qualification in Electronics and Communication Engineering with 4 to 8 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
+ Candidate should have experience in RF Design integration capabilities for Wireless communications and 5G integration
+ Candidate should have strong experience in high-speed design clocking, Ethernet/Serdes/MIPI designs
+ Candidate should have strong experience in knowledge of using simulation tools like SABER RD and creating simulation models with MATLAB and SABER
+ Candidate should have experience with Power Integrity analysis, Hyperlynx SI and Mentor suite of eCAD tools
+ Candidate should have basic knowledge of cellular and Wi-Fi standards

**Your Impact**
+ Manage and maintain standard Creo setup files and configuration tools. Automate parameter management and support modelling efficiency.
+ Upgrade legacy CAD models (Solid Edge, SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.) to current Creo standards. Ensure compliance with current drawing and modelling standards.
+ Support users with check-in/check-out issues. Diagnose and resolve common viewable generation problems.
+ Navigate ECR/ECN workflows; assist in issue resolution. Interpret business rules related to ECNs and provide user guidance. Enforce and promote Windchill standards for Creo and WT Parts.
+ Ensure compliance with material and drawing standards. Perform drawing reviews against organizational standards. And support standardization and best practices across engineering teams.
**Your Experience and Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent
+ 5-8 years of experience in:
o Windchill administration and troubleshooting
o ECR/ECN processes and drawing release systems
o Drawing standards and product development lifecycle
+ Proficiency in Creo and Windchill.
+ Hands-on experience with PLM tools and issue resolution.
+ Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation skills. Effective communicator and team collaborator.
