The role of the Thermal Engineering Project Manager in Pune, India is to support Business Development in Energy as a Service (“EaaS”) in India and Southeast Asia from conceptual design to implementation. This is a critical role, working in close conjunction with the Engineering and Business Development teams.
Key responsibility areas:
- Responsibility of modelling energy efficiency projects to find the best configurations of equipment from a technical and financial perspective – steam, hot water, waste heat recovery, cogeneration, etc. ;
- Lead all aspects of the engineering lifecycle for EaaS projects, from heat balances to technical and financial feasibility studies, design reviews and permitting to construction;
- Achieving cost leadership through design optimization and vendor development;
- Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, codes, and environmental regulations;
- Participate in project management for the projects in India and supporting the project team for the projects in SEA;
- Manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget;
- Following up AE's project management processes, reporting requirements, etc.;
- Excellent communication ability to be able to influence and lead the technical value proposition to the customers in person and build our unique positioning to win the opportunities;
- Following AE's ESG framework, safety policies, training, incident management and environmental compliances for the projects in the Philippines; and
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., management, BD team, shareholders) and external partners (e.g., EPC and O&M contractors, technical consultants).
Other Position requirements
- Job located in Pune (India);
- Travelling in India, and occasionally in Southeast Asia;
- Strong academic background in mechanical, thermal energy or industrial engineering (Bachelor degree as a minimum);
- + 10 years of successful experience in mechanical/thermal engineering;
- Strong understanding of relevant engineering principles, construction practices, and environmental regulations;
- Spirit of dedication and teamwork;

The GCC Vadodara campus is seeking to hire a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D team at Xylem GCC Vadodara.
