The Business Development Manager is responsible for owning the Pharmaceutical industry vertical and achieving annual revenue growth through strategic account acquisition, relationship development, industry participation, and opportunity management. In this role, you will act as the “Voice of the Industry” within Technosprout, continuously tracking sector trends, global regulatory compliance shifts, and technology adoption patterns. You will be the core driver who builds the pipeline, closes the deals, and deeply understands the intersecting worlds of drug development, manufacturing technology, and cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pipeline Generation & Prospecting
- Account Mapping: Maintain a ready network of target pharmaceutical companies, formulation plants, and healthcare enterprises across India.
- Prospect key decision-makers (CXOs, CISOs, CIOs, and Heads of Quality Assurance/Compliance) and build targeted account intelligence.
- Lead Generation: Execute outbound outreach, LinkedIn campaigns, network via life sciences events, and leverage our partner ecosystem (CyberArk, Palo Alto, HashiCorp) to secure qualified discovery meetings.
- Discovery & Qualification: Conduct deep discovery workshops to understand client business hurdles—such as securing Intellectual Property (IP) in R&D or safeguarding OT (Operational Technology) networks on the factory floor—before positioning solutions.
2. Revenue Generation & Account Management
- Deal Ownership: Manage opportunities through the entire complex enterprise sales lifecycle—including coordinating technical solutioning teams, preparing technical proposals, building ROI business cases, and negotiating commercial terms.
- Account Expansion: Maintain post-sale engagement by conducting Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), identifying cross-sell opportunities (e.g., moving an account from IAM to Cloud Security), and securing renewals to maintain a customer retention rate north of 90%.
3. Industry Participation & Brand Building
- Networking & Ecosystem Engagement: Attend prominent pharma tech and healthcare IT conferences to build deep relationships with compliance consultants, industry auditors, and strategic technology partners.
- Thought Leadership: Participate in life sciences tech communities, share emerging cybersecurity trends impacting manufacturing, and collaborate with marketing teams to publish insight papers.
4. Market Intelligence & Knowledge Management
- Internal Advisory: Act as the internal subject matter expert for the Pharma sector. Track global regulations (such as USFDA 21 CFR Part 11, GxP data integrity guidelines, and India's DPDP Act) to educate internal deployment and sales teams.
- Knowledge Sharing: Deliver regular internal knowledge sessions, compile case studies on pharma breaches/solutions, and contribute to quarterly market intelligence reports.
Required Skills & Competencies:
Technical & Functional Knowledge
- Industry & Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical lifecycle (R&D, clinical trials, manufacturing, supply chain) and familiarity with regulatory frameworks like GxP, USFDA data integrity mandates, and validated IT environment requirements.
- Technology Frameworks: Working familiarity with Cybersecurity, Identity & Access Management (IAM/PAM), Securing Cloud/DevOps infrastructure in R&D, and OT/IoT security risks in manufacturing environments.
