**About this role**

About Post Trade Accounting (PTA)
A major strategic area within Aladdin and one of BlackRock's largest engineering investments.
Responsible for the systems that ensure accurate, scalable, and efficient accounting across global operations.
Expanding into data analytics and pipeline initiatives using Snowflake, Redis, and distributed event streaming and messaging platforms to manage high-volume, real-time data.
Collaborates closely with Product, Operations, and other Engineering teams to deliver business-critical capabilities.
Agile and collaborative environment that values technical depth, quality, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop robust, high-performance back-end systems using Java 11+ and the Spring Boot ecosystem.
Lead design discussions, code reviews, and architecture sessions with a hands-on approach.
Build and maintain microservices and event-driven systems to process and distribute large-scale financial data.
Develop data integration and pipeline components that connect systems across Snowflake, SQL Server, and real-time streaming platforms.
Implement and optimize Redis-based caching and data stores for low-latency access patterns.
Champion best practices for code quality, testing, automation, and performance tuning.
Mentor engineers to elevate technical craftsmanship, problem-solving, and design thinking.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure technical solutions align with product goals and business outcomes.
Qualifications / Competencies
B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
8+ years of professional experience in Java and object-oriented design.
Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, REST APIs, and enterprise integration patterns.
Deep expertise in SQL Server, including stored procedures, performance tuning, and data modeling.
Experience with Redis for caching or data persistence.
Hands-on exposure to distributed event streaming and messaging platforms or similar publish-subscribe systems for real-time event processing.
Familiarity with Snowflake and data pipeline concepts (ETL, batch vs. streaming).
Experience with Agentic coding and general understanding of how LLMs are working
Strong focus on clean architecture, maintainability, and production readiness.
Excellent communication and leadership skills - able to guide teams and influence design direction.
Nice to Have
Experience with Enterprise-grade container orchestration platform supporting declarative infrastructure and horizontal scaling, Open Container Initiative (OCI) container image packaging and runtime, or cloud-native environments (AWS/GCP).
Exposure to observability tools (metrics collection, Grafana, Open Telemetry).
Scripting experience in Python for automation or data analysis.
Exposure to Prompt Engineering and Agentic AI
Interest in financial systems, accounting, or investment technology.

**Responsibilities include:**
+ Collaborate with team members in a multi-office, multi-country environment.
+ Deliver high efficiency, high availability, concurrent and fault tolerant software systems.
+ Leverage AI in code generation, code analysis and test automation.
+ Significantly contribute to development of Aladdin's global, multi-asset trading platform.
+ Work with product management and business users to define the roadmap for the product.
+ Design and develop innovative solutions to complex problems, identifying issues and roadblocks.
+ Apply validated quality software engineering practices through all phases of development.
+ Ensure resilience and stability through quality code reviews, unit, regression and user acceptance testing, dev ops and level two production support.
+ Be a leader with vision and a partner in brainstorming solutions for team productivity, efficiency, guiding and motivating others.

**Qualifications:**
+ B.E./ B.TECH./ MCA or any other relevant engineering degree from a reputed university.
+ 8+ years of proven experience
**Skills and Experience:**
+ A proven foundation in core Java and related technologies, with OO skills and design patterns
+ Experience with AI platforms, APIs, or internal frameworks to integrate AI LLM/Models into your projects for Agentic capabilities.
+ Track record building high quality software with design-focused and test-driven approaches
+ Good hands-on object-oriented programming knowledge in Java, Spring, Microservices,
+ Strong knowledge of Open-Source technology stack (Spring, Hibernate, Maven, JUnit, etc.).
+ Experience with relational database and/or NoSQL Database (e.g., Apache Cassandra)
+ Great analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
+ Some experience or a real interest in finance, investment processes, and/or an ability to translate business problems into technical solutions.
+ Candidate should have experience in building high scale application and being responsible for the design and technical quality of a significant application, system, or component.
+ Exposure to building microservices and APIs ideally with REST, Kafka or gRPC.
**Nice to have and opportunities to learn:**
+ Experience working in an agile development team or on open-source development projects.
+ Experience with optimization, algorithms or related quantitative processes.
+ Exposure to high scale distributed technology like Kafka, Mongo, Ignite, Redis
+ Experience with Cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud
+ Experience with DevOps and tools like Azure DevOps
