Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced ETL Testing Engineer with over 5 years of proven expertise in designing, developing, and executing ETL test cases to ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity within data warehouse and BI solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL tools, and testing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for ETL processes.
- Validate data extraction, transformation, and loading operations to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with data engineers, developers, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and mappings.
- Perform data profiling, data validation, and reconcile source data with target data.
- Identify, document, and track defects, ensuring timely resolution.
- Automate ETL test cases and develop reusable test scripts to improve testing efficiency.
- Perform performance testing of ETL jobs and identify bottlenecks to optimize processing times.
- Document testing efforts, results, and provide detailed reports to stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to data governance, security standards, and compliance requirements.
- Stay updated on emerging ETL testing tools and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in ETL testing within large-scale data warehouses.
- Strong knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, Pentaho, DataStage, or similar.
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting to validate and analyze data.
- Experience with testing tools like Selenium, UFT, or specialized ETL testing frameworks is a plus.
- Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and BI platforms.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Certifications:
- ISTQB Certified Tester
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- Any relevant ETL or Data Warehouse certifications
