EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) Manager
Job Title: EHS Manager / EHS Executive
Department: Environment, Health & Safety
Reporting To: Plant Head / Operations Head / EHS Director
Location : Sinagavram
Job Purpose
To develop, implement, and monitor environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe and healthy workplace.
Key Responsibilities
1. Safety Management
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and job safety analysis (JSA).
- Monitor workplace safety practices and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective & preventive actions.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and observation programs.
2. Environmental Management
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.
- Manage waste disposal, emissions, and pollution control programs.
- Monitor environmental performance including air, water, and soil quality.
- Promote sustainability initiatives and resource conservation.
3. Occupational Health
- Implement occupational health programs and medical surveillance.
- Monitor workplace exposure to hazardous materials, noise, and chemicals.
- Maintain health records and coordinate with medical professionals.
- Promote employee wellness programs.
4. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to local, national, and international EHS regulations.
- Maintain all statutory records, licenses, and documentation.
- Liaise with government authorities and external agencies.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports.
5. Training & Awareness
- Conduct EHS training programs and safety inductions.
- Develop awareness campaigns on safety, health, and environment.
- Ensure employee competency in emergency response and safe work practices.
6. Emergency Preparedness
- Develop and implement emergency response plans.
- Conduct mock drills for fire, chemical spills, and evacuation.
- Coordinate with emergency services and response teams.
7. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain EHS documentation, SOPs, manuals, and records.
- Analyze safety data, KPIs, and trends.
- Prepare monthly and annual EHS reports for management.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of safety standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001)
- Risk assessment and hazard analysis expertise
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis
- Leadership and team management
- Communication and training skills
- Problem-solving and analytical skills
Qualifications
- Any Diploma/Engineering
- Diploma in Industrial Safety SBTET
Experience
- 5–10+ years of experience in EHS roles (for Manager level)
- Industry-specific experience (manufacturing )
