We are looking for a Principal Member of Technical Staff to join our Collector team within our Chennai R&D division. Your job will be to build products and services for Collector – Revenue Cycle Management Product. Help us reach our goal of becoming the healthcare backbone by enhancing our cloud-based EHR solution and leveraging the network effect of 85,400+ providers. Our Collector R&D teams are building new and exciting revenue cycle services for athenahealth customers. We work on solving complex business problems for a wide range of stakeholders covering everyone from Customers to our internal technology enabled services teams and our multiple BPO vendors. Our work is quite complex and requires the ability to conceptualize and implement workflows that manage large volumes of claim resolution work. This work can be manually completed by our BPO partners or automated to increase overall system productivity.
Job Responsibilities
· Deliver customer value in the form of high-quality software solutions and services in adherence with programming standards.
· Write, debug, and deploy code to production; deliver timely fixes.
· Lead efforts across the team to ensure completion and effectiveness of open incidents/requests.
· Develop scalable RESTful APIs ensuring integration with internal and external systems while securing API endpoints using OAuth, JWT, and API Key Authentication.
· Develop AI-driven applications, microservices, and automation workflows
· Integrate OpenAI APIs (GPT models, Embeddings, Function Calling) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques to enhance AI-powered document retrieval, classification, and decision-making.
· Perform peer code reviews to ensure quality standards and sustainability.
· Troubleshoot to identify root cause for standard code defects, propose and implement solution.
· Develop knowledge to act as a domain expert across multiple modules; facilitate the sharing of business and technical insights with the broader engineering and product organization.
· Collaborate with members of product and development teams to assist in design solutions.
· Work collaboratively across the Technology and Product organizations to ensure alignment towards business goals.
· Builds strong relationships with cross-functional team members and business stakeholders.
· Share business and technical learnings with the broader engineering and product organization, while adapting approach for different audiences.
Typical Qualifications
· 15-20 years of experience in an engineering role.
· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Significant software engineering skills and computer science experience.
· Demonstrated experience leading or developing high quality, enterprise scale software products using a structured system development lifecycle.
· Experience in an Agile environment. Been part of SDLC, deployment & support of software projects.
· Knowledge of programming languages: Java, Spring Boot, Node JS, React, JavaScript/jQuery, TypeScript.
· Experience in designing and reviewing system architectures to ensure they meet business requirements, scalability, and performance standards.
· Experience architecting/developing solutions on AWS.
· Experience with object-oriented programming, relational database technologies, distributed computing tech and RESTful APIs.
· Experience with structured & unstructured data:
· SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server)
· NoSQL (OpenSearch, Redis, Elasticsearch)
· Vector Databases (FAISS, Pinecone, ChromaDB)
· Experience in GenAI Frameworks & Tools: OpenAI API, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, LlamaIndex, AutoGPT, CrewAI.
· Experience in LLM deployment, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and AI search optimization.
· Demonstrate familiarity with Agentic AI and Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect agents with data sources and systems.
· Experience in healthcare / health IT is a plus

As part of our Enablement and Sales Acceleration team within the global Sales GTM function, this role supports the design and delivery of scalable learning experiences that drive seller effectiveness and readiness. Reporting to the Director of Sales Acceleration, you will play a critical role in transforming our global learning ecosystem into a streamlined, intuitive, and engaging environment for 400+ sellers worldwide.
This role is ideal for a seasoned instructional designer who excels at creating structured, learner-centric training experiences grounded in adult learning theory, instructional design best practices, and digital learning technologies. You’ll collaborate with regional enablement teams and cross-functional partners to build impactful learning journeys that are easy to navigate, visually compelling, and measurably effective.
Purpose
To lead the instructional design and experience strategy for our digital learning platforms - creating clear, accessible, and engaging training programs that support global sales productivity and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Design & Learning Strategy
- Design end-to-end learning programs including onboarding, certifications, role-specific paths, and just-in-time training modules.
- Apply established instructional design frameworks (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) and adult learning principles to all content.
- Ensure all training follows a logical flow, is accessible to users of all levels, and aligns to business goals and seller roles.
Learning Experience Design & LMS Management
- Structure and organize the LMS (Absorb) to make learning journeys intuitive, visually engaging, and easy to navigate.
- Develop content in Articulate and other tools, ensuring consistency with style guides and user experience standards.
- Administer the LMS: manage tagging, learner paths, course publishing, access control, and reporting.
Enablement Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Create dashboards and reports that track learner engagement, completion rates, and performance metrics.
- Use data to continuously improve course design, recommend updates, and identify content gaps.
- Partner with Sales Ops to connect learning engagement with performance outcomes for actionable insights.
Innovation & Emerging Technology
- Explore and experiment with emerging platforms and technologies (AI, IVR, simulations) to enhance content interactivity and learner engagement.
- Pilot microlearning and "meet-the-moment" content delivery formats to increase accessibility and adoption.
Content Governance & Support
- Provide ongoing administrative and technical support to LMS users, including access management through Active Directory.
- Maintain detailed documentation of learning assets, processes, standards, and systems.
Ideal Candidate Profile
You’re an experienced instructional designer who blends strong pedagogical knowledge with a user-centered mindset. You love creating structured, clear, and visually engaging learning experiences, and you have a strong understanding of how platform design impacts learner engagement. You are comfortable working in a data-rich environment and passionate about tying learning to performance.
Skills & Experience
- 3+ years in instructional design or learning experience design
- Strong background in curriculum development and adult learning theory
- Expertise with LMS platforms, especially Absorb, and tools like Articulate
- Experience organizing and optimizing digital learning environments for ease of use
- Strong UX sensibility in structuring content, learning paths, and user navigation
- Data-driven mindset with experience analyzing learner behavior and course performance
- Familiarity with integrating AI or interactive technologies into learning a plus
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
