Functional Description:
Enterprise Data Strategy Team within, Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) organization is responsible for defining external data strategy across credit and fraud use cases. The team also owns foundational capabilities like Global Account Monitoring (GAM) and Global Outbound Bureau Reporting (OBR) that exchange customer data with bureaus and other data companies. Roles and Responsibilities:

Functional Description
The Global Risk & Compliance Organization (GRC) is an independent risk management function, led by the Chief Risk Officer, with the objective of ensuring that American Express operates in a safe, sound, and fully compliant manner with all applicable regulatory expectations. The successful candidate will lead a team of 3 risk professionals and will be responsible for identifying, measuring, monitoring, and reporting on conduct risks with advanced technology and data analytics. This role is critical in providing independent oversight and challenge of conduct risks across the enterprise, with a focus on ensuring behaviors and processes align with regulatory expectations and our company's Risk Appetite.

Key Responsibilities:
* Perform advanced data analytics on unstructured data to identify trends, composition, leading indicators, and outlook in conduct risk dimensions (Knowledge of NLP modeling techniques preferred)

**How will you make an impact in this role?**
The External Fraud Risk Oversight team within Financial Risk Management (FRM) is part of the Global Risk and Compliance (GRC) organization. The function is responsible for providing independent oversight on external fraud risk management.
The incumbent will assist in independent oversight of external fraud risk, which includes business processes and non-model tools. As an external fraud risk oversight analyst, you will be instrumental in monitoring and analyzing processes and controls to prevent First Party/Victim Fraud on Cards, Banking and Non-Card products. Your expertise will support the mitigation of potential fraud by ensuring oversight through effective challenge to First Line risk management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Provide independent oversight on risk processes and non-model tools used in external fraud risk management for the Company.
+ Assist in development and enforcement of external fraud prevention policies and procedures. Recommend enhancements in existing processes to improve fraud detection capabilities.
+ Utilize advanced external fraud detection and monitoring tools to analyze and highlight emerging fraud trends and high loss fraud events.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ 0 - 2 years of experience in risk management, risk oversight and analytics.
+ Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics).
+ Knowledge of SQL and Python.
+ Strong technical and analytical skills with the ability to apply both quantitative methods and business skills to create insights and drive results.
+ Strong analytical skills, including a proving ability to translate complex and disparate information to develop a comprehensive and cohesive conclusion for colleagues, business partners, and senior leaders.
+ Ability to work independently and across a matrix organization partnering with business partners, functional owners, capabilities, technology teams and external vendors.
+ Rigorous and analytical approach to problem-solving, decision-making, and prioritization collaboration across teams/geographies.
+ This role is required to be on-site 3 days/week.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Prior experience in external fraud risk management.
+ Prior experience in oversight functions.

This opportunity is in American Express Data Platform and Capabilities team, responsible for supporting new products and services which develop new business opportunities for Amex and expand product distribution to support enterprise value and drive revenue growth. The team is focused on meeting the business needs of internal as well as external customers by creating information products and services that leverage the American Express new age digital ecosystem and proprietary closed loop data.
The EAPP team is a product journey team responsible for providing integrated digital journey for customer onboarding for our customers across different businesses. EAPP uses big data platform, cloud systems, APIs and algorithms to integrate multiple AmEx product, sales, risk and information platforms, perform evaluations and guide customers to a seamless onboarding.
The Current role is to enhance EAPP DQ standards by establishing a proactive monitoring, management and corrective system across the process using enterprise and external tools. It will require the analyst to have knowledge about data and platforms, setting up analytical and business checks using enterprise tools, perform data driven RCA and establishing an issue redressal and defect resolution system with strong governance.
**Responsibilities of the candidate would include:**
+ Focus on supporting business process specific data analysis, create specific business rules on data trends, data monitoring, data quality analysis and taking remediate actions
+ Exploratory analysis to understand Data trends and create rationalized rules for quality monitoring
+ Create / document / execute rules-based monitoring for new application capabilities
+ Manage product issues and drive towards a speedy issue resolution.
+ Manage customer expectations including scope, schedule, changes, and problem resolution
+ Drive on-time, high quality project deliverables
+ Detailed RCA using Hive/GCP/Python
+ Documented best practice guidelines.
+ Appropriate action to highlight challenges and ensure resolution via correct channels.
**Required Skills**
+ Strong analytical skills include the ability to think through all aspects of complex business requirements and generate possible courses of action
+ Demonstrated ability to drive results and manage multiple relationships and projects, proven ability to adjust quickly to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity and rapid change
+ Ability to prioritize and deliver work within a deadline-driven climate
+ Strong communication skills oriented toward working with customers to document their product needs
+ Team player with demonstrated ability in collaborating across customer and Technology organizations
Experience in Data Products and Pipelines, understanding systems
+ Strong Governance mindset with Aptitude for Data Quality
+ **SAS/SQL/Hive programming skills**
+ **Basic Unix skills/MVL Scripts**
+ **Knowledge of Big Data/ Hadoop /Cloud/APIs or experience of working in Python programming is a strong plus**
+ Experience working within a complex data warehouse environment is a strong plus
+ 4 years' experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst.
+ Bachelor's Degree is required
