As our Digital Technical Authority (Director level) for our Global Technology Centre (GTC) in India, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects by shaping and executing our organization’s technical strategy. Your expertise will guide critical decisions, ensuring that our projects align with industry best practices, innovation, and quality standards. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of excellence.

The Digital practice in the GTC consists of three practices Enabling Services, Data Intelligence and Technology Solutions. As the Technical Authority you will be the accountable for the technical delivery across all three practices. You will ensure that technical decisions are made with a balanced view of what good looks like, considering the buy, partner, build decision, technical development stack available, and data, security and IP considerations. You will engage heavily in our digital Global Technical Networks (GTNs), shaping these and aligning the GTC accordingly.

Enabling Services encompasses our digital internally managed services that support our wider business. Data Intelligence helps our clients set data strategy and governance, architect and manage their data and generate insight from it through artificial intelligence and powerful visualizations. Technology Solutions is our end-to-end service to help our clients integrate, deliver and run high quality technology their people embrace.

You will need to work with the Practice Leads in India, whilst collaborating closely with counterparts in our global regions to instill technical rigor into our development processes, coaching and mentoring junior staff so they are able to make better technical decisions day to day, whilst being the ultimate stop for more complex decisions.

This is a part-time team leadership role, and you will have a non-productive allowance to balance alongside your wider project delivery.

Accountabilities

You will be empowered to drive the success of the Digital Practice, working collaboratively with colleagues across the Practice and wider business to shape and deliver the technical direction of the business. Specifically, you will have a big personal impact to:

  • Develop and communicate a clear technical vision aligned with business goals, identifying emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities to enhance our technical capabilities
  • Mentor and inspire technical teams, promoting a growth mindset and continuous learning, setting technical standards, guidelines, and best practices across projects which drive innovation
  • Collaborate with Technical leadership from across the business, including the GTC Practice Leads and Global Technical Networks (GTNs) to develop, implement, and embed technical best practice into BAU delivery, liaising with regional capabilities to highlight opportunities to use novel technologies
  • Scope the technical solutions for our complex and/or high-risk projects, drawing on your industry experience to take strategic decisions that allow re-use, optimize delivery efficiency and comply to internal and external standards (e.g. security, data residency, preferred suppliers etc.).
  • Proactively monitor and appropriately manage technical delivery risks, with a focus on protecting the GTC reputation with the wider business and our clients, solving and learning from issues as they arise
  • Streamline interfaces with other Practice areas, both within the GTC and more broadly, to enable high value integrated propositions, identifying complementary expertise and aligning ways of working to reduce barriers

  • Role Requirements

    You will be able to demonstrate the following experience, skills, and qualifications:

    Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other relevant field (practical experience in lieu will be considered)
  • Extensive experience in overseeing the design and development of large applications, including application development processes and quality control while coordinating multiple programmers
  • Extensive domain experience and knowledge of at least one area of computer science, data or information management or other technical domain
  • Extensive experience with current programming techniques, development tools, database design and/or administration of enterprise relational database management systems
  • Demonstrable experience leading DevOps approaches (including Scaled Agile) and Agile/Waterfall interfaces in a variety of industry sectors
  • Experience of overseeing complex architectures from first principles to service operation, preferably with experience in a Design Authority or Architecture Board environment
  • Experience leading, developing, and providing oversight to large (150+ FTE) development teams and/or technical communities
  • Demonstrable experience operating using excellent interpersonal, technical writing and communications skills with ability to communicate complex problems to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Highly Desirable

  • An understanding of how Agile technical governance works within wider, often waterfall, corporate governance frameworks and experience navigating the friction this can cause
  • Experience conducting quality assurance audits and checks, such as TickIt Plus, and leading the development of rectification / improvement plans to address gaps
  • An advanced practical understanding of the Microsoft Azure tech stack, preferably with relevant Microsoft certifications
  • Experience operating in a client-facing role, preferably with business/solution development responsibilities, including proposal writing, cost build up and value proposition development
  • Industry recognized and applicable certifications or demonstrable experience in lieu of, e.g. Microsoft Certified Solution Developer, PRINCE2, APM, Scaled Agile, Togaf, IT4IT
  • Knowledge of wider DevOps practices and tooling such as Atlassian, Jira, Confluence

    Whilst this role is a GTC leadership position, we are open to applicants from other geographies. Applicants from other geographies will be expected to articulate how they would fulfill the role requirements remotely and would be expected to travel regularly to India if appointed. Secondments will be considered.

    Job Summary

    We are looking for a Technical Authority in the field of Composite Manufacturing Process Development to join the GKN Aerospace Technology team, this is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of advance manufacturing technologies for GKN Aerospace. 

    The successful candidate will have demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the field of composite manufacturing process development and as such, the candidate must havea proven track record in leading and successfully executing complex technology development projects with particular focus on Resin Transfer Moulding and large scale primary wing structures.

    The Technical Authority will be responsible for leading the development and supporting the industrialisation of state-of-the art composite manufacturing processes. Key aspects of this role involve; ensuring technical excellence throughout the development phase, driving innovation, leading a multidiscipline team, supporting the technology strategic planning process and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

    How You'll Contribute

  • Technical Leadership : You will lead a team of research engineers and specialists fostering a culture of care, innovation, integrity, and ownership and you will provide expert guidance to all levels within the organisation on composite manufacturing technologies and processes including input into the strategic planning process
  • Process Development : You will lead the development and optimisation of composite manufacturing processes, including material selection, tooling methods, and supplier selection and production techniques
  • Innovation : You will drive innovation in composite manufacturing methods to enhance product performance and reduce manufacturing costs
  • Quality Assurance : You will ensure adherence to the TRL process and ensure that any manufacturing processes meet the required GKN aerospace quality standards and aerospace regulatory requirements
  • Project Management : You will technically lead strategically important projects and working with the PM team you will be responsible for project progress reporting and budget and schedule adherence
  • Collaboration : You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and production, to ensure seamless integration of composite technologies. You will harness the benefits of and continue to grow your extensive technical network/ecosystem

  • Extensive experience in composite component manufacturing process development gained in the aerospace industry. Recognised as an individual who has had an outstanding contribution to the composite component manufacturing sector. Highly conversant with case study examples of high maturity RTM large scale component manufacture
  • In-depth knowledge of composite material properties, manufacturing techniques, and industry standards
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams. Ideally with previous exposure to ATI funded programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve technical issues in manufacturing processes

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Insurance Technical Analyst with a strong understanding of London Market processes, particularly LPAN (London Premium Advice Note) and associated premium, tax, and regulatory frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in interpreting and processing LPANs, understanding premium calculations, and managing documentation such as IMR and ECF applications. This role is critical to ensuring accuracy in premium calculations, compliance with tax regulations, and effective technical support within the underwriting and finance teams.
    Responsibilities 
    • Interpret and analyse various types of LPANs and ensure accurate data entry and processing. 
    • Calculate and validate Gross to Net Premium including adjustments for brokerage, taxes, IPT, and other factors. 
    • Possess strong working knowledge of tax types including Additional Taxes, Deductible Taxes, and Stamp Duties. 
    • Handle IMR (Insurers Market Repository) and ECF (Electronic Claims File) applications with attention to detail. 
    • Demonstrate understanding of Signed Lines vs Written Lines, and how they affect premium allocation. 
    • Analyse and process Bordereaux submissions in line with internal and regulatory standards. 
    • Ensure accurate handling of key premium terms such as Gross Premium, Net Premium, Brokerage, IPT, and Rate of Exchange (ROE). 
    • Apply strong analytical and mathematical skills to perform complex premium and tax calculations. 
    • Support underwriting, claims, and finance teams by providing accurate and timely technical analysis. 
     
    Qualifications we seek in you! 
    Minimum qualifications 
    • Graduate (in any discipline) 
    • Prior experience in the London Insurance Market or technical underwriting support function.
    • In-depth knowledge of LPAN structure and types. 
    • Familiarity with market systems such as IMR and ECF. 
    • Strong understanding of insurance and reinsurance premium calculations and related taxation. 
    • Basic knowledge of Bordereaux preparation and interpretation. 
    • Fluent in English language- both written and oral 
    • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software tools. 
    • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple data points accurately. 
     
    Preferred qualifications 
    • Professional certification (e.g., CII or equivalent) is a plus. 
    • Experience with London Market systems (e.g., LIMOSS, PPL) desirable. 
    • Prior experience with multinational insurance or reinsurance firms preferred. 
    • Insurance domain awareness 
    • Good knowledge of MS Office 
    • Preferred with certification on one of the streams i.e. CII London i.e. ALMI, FIT or Cert CII or equivalent or AINS, CPCU certification

    As a Client Executive (CE), you will be responsible for leading the sales activity in a set of UK Public Sector accounts to achieve assigned sales quota. You will lead the collaboration and coordination of all sales and pre-sales roles associated with the account to develop and grow the NetApp business in the account. The CE serves as a trusted advisor to the customer’s senior leadership and uses business acumen and technical expertise to maximize revenue from the account.

  • Create relationship maps within accounts and plans to expand depth and quality of relationships with buyers and influencers
  • Develop account plans and work with assigned Account Technology Specialists to develop a long-term product strategy for new and existing NetApp product lines
  • Lead and coordinate the end-to-end sales cycle including pipeline generation, qualification, solution design, pricing and quoting, deal/contract negotiation
  • Act as a sales orchestrator, pulling in the right experts, at the right place and right time
  • Oversee multiple concurrent sales motions (some owned by specialist sellers or even other sales roles) to ensure a customer-centric approach, while not inhibiting other sellers or specialists from hunting for opportunitie
  • Lead partner co-selling efforts in the account.
