The Gas Power Technical Compliance organization (GPTC) provides technical guidance, leadership, and tactical directions to drive Process and Functional safety for product (gas turbines, steam turbines and generators) and plant systems (HRSG, water steam cycle and BOP) to be integrated into a power plant for HD and Aero businesses.
GPTC provides coverage in expertise throughout the entire lifecycle of Power Generation equipment including New Product Introduction (NPI), commercial phase (Inquiry to Order -ITO), and execution (Order to Remittance - OTR).
GPTC is seeking a new team member to drive plant process safety and functional safety from commercial phase to end of execution, covering Heavy Duty and Aero projects globally. The goal of the process and functional safety is aimed to ensure a safe operation of a power plant, in compliance with all applicable technical regulations, associated Standards and GE Vernova - Gas Power requirements.
**Job Description**
**Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Lead multiple projects, executing process and functional safety assessment on plant systems (HRSG, water steam cycle and BOP) following Process Safety methodology based on IEC61882 and Functional Safety process based on IEC61511 for Gas Power.
+ Monitor progresses to ensure GE Vernova priorities are met: Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost in this order.
+ Work closely with all other interface functions to execute Process and Functional Safety, to eliminate inefficiencies and to improve overall productivity, ensuring that hazards are properly identified and mitigated, and the required actions are correctly followed up.
+ Partner closely with other Engineering teams to ensure regulatory requirements flow-down and common process/practices to minimize non-value-added engineering and design efforts.
+ Actively support business initiatives in Quality, Lean, Continuous Improvement related to Process and Functional Safety.
+ Drive continuous improvement to meet or exceed the annual priorities.
+ Lead, drive, and resolve safety and critical quality issues for successful execution of Process and Functional Safety projects, including partner with site teams to resolve site commissioning issue for successful startups and commissioning.
+ Interact with Authorities and Inspection/Certification Agencies to validate compliance to safety standards.
+ Support the team to develop standard work and daily management to ensure operational excellence.
+ Ensure adherence to Company policies and procedures.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or science from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
+ Previous experience working in international companies in energy business. (more than 2 years), preferably in engineering or project management.
+ Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
+ Good understanding of Process Safety (IEC61882) and Functional safety (IEC61511) International Standards.
+ Good communication and presentation abilities.
+ Good organizational, facilitation and leadership skills.
+ Occasional travel required.
+ Expertise working with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
**Desired Characteristics**
+ Experience in working with internal and external parties (Exida, Ineris, TUV).
+ Proven ability to work with engineering, project management, inspection & certification companies to expediently resolve technical issues.
+ Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain good relationships with stakeholders.

The Functional Safety Engineer will be responsible for the ISO 26262 safety plan implementation for the Silicon Solutions Group (SSG) IP's (including but not limited to processors, hardware accelerators and controllers) targeted for automotive products, and development of ISO 26262 compliant processes, infrastructure and work products. He/she will work with the safety organizations of our customers, vendors, external safety expert consultants and internal product development teams to ensure that the functional safety process is well understood, executed and documented.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Act as Functional Safety Engineer for Cadence/SSG Safety related HW & SW products
+ Create and/or support functional safety work products according to ISO 26262 which include the Safety Plan, Safety Manual, Safety Requirements, and Safety Analysis including qualitative and quantitative FMEDA, and Safety Verification and Validation activities on SSG IP's as a SEooC (Safety Element out of Context).
+ Collaborate with project engineers, marketing & development team, safety consultants, vendors and customers on Functional Safety activities
+ Work with architecture team on Functional Safety products to propose safety features and define the safety architecture
+ Create/review functional safety documentation according to ISO 26262
