Position: Public Health Counselor
Key Responsibilities:
Adolescent Counseling & Health Education:
- Provide one-on-one counseling and group sessions on topics related to reproductive health, sexual health, mental health, substance abuse, nutrition, and overall well-being.
- Conduct educational sessions for adolescents and youth about healthy lifestyles, hygiene, and disease prevention.
- Address psychosocial issues and promote positive behavioral changes among adolescents.
Community Outreach:
- Engage with local communities to raise awareness about health and well-being.
- Organize and participate in community-based activities such as health camps, school programs, and youth empowerment sessions.
- Mobilize adolescents and youth to attend counseling sessions and other health-related programs.
Collaboration & Networking:
- Work closely with local healthcare providers, teachers, and community leaders to ensure holistic support for adolescents.
- Develop partnerships with NGOs and other stakeholders to enhance the delivery of health services.
- Attend training sessions and workshops.
Referral & Follow-up Services:
- Provide referrals to specialized healthcare services or mental health professionals when necessary.
- Follow up with adolescents to ensure they have access to required services and support.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
Education: Graduate in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in counseling, social work, or public health, preferably with adolescents.
**Skills**:Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with adolescents and community members.
Knowledge of adolescent health issues, including reproductive health, nutrition, mental health, and substance abuse.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in community mobilization and health education activities.
Proficiency in local languages (Hindi, and understanding of regional dialects is an advantage).
Other Requirements: Willingness to travel within the assigned districts and work in remote areas.
