Polyplastics is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Regional Marketing Head – West & South to lead customer engagement and business growth with key OEMs and Tier 1 customers across the Western and Southern regions of India. This role demands a strong blend of strategic marketing, customer interfacing, technical acumen, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate will act as the primary interface between customers and manufacturing plants, ensuring alignment of customer requirements with plant capabilities and delivering profitable growth.
Key Customers under Scope:
OEMs: Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai Motors, Toyota Kirloskar, KIA Motors, RNAIPL, TACO etc.
Key Responsibilities :
Customer Engagement & Business Development
· Drive strategic engagement with key OEMs and Tier 1s for current and future business opportunities.
· Act as the lead liaison between customer technical, commercial, and supply chain teams and internal stakeholders.
· Identify business growth opportunities through new model developments, platform strategies, or technology-led product enhancements.
· Conduct periodic customer reviews, resolve escalations, and drive customer satisfaction.
Technical & Commercial Acumen
· Demonstrate strong understanding of automotive part drawings, functional requirements, and material specifications.
· Coordinate with engineering and costing teams to deliver accurate product costing, feasibility analysis, and value engineering proposals.
· Support customer discussions with technical presentations, sample approvals, and pre-SOP planning.
Cross-Functional Coordination
· Act as the bridge between plant operations and customer expectations on quality, delivery, and engineering change management.
· Collaborate with Design, Quality, Production, and SCM teams for timely execution of development and mass production schedules.
Team & Stakeholder Management
· Lead, guide and mentor a regional marketing team; build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
· Manage internal peer relationships with planning, finance, and R&D for seamless operations.
· Ensure compliance with all commercial terms, payment cycles, and documentation processes.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
· Drive sales forecasts, order book tracking, and customer revenue planning.
· Maintain market intelligence on competitor movement, pricing trends, and future customer strategies.
Candidate Profile:
Experience & Industry Background
· 12–15 years of progressive experience in marketing, business development, or key account management in the auto component industry.
· Prior experience handling OEM accounts directly (preferably Tata, Hyundai, Mahindra, Toyota, etc.) is desirable.
· High Proficiency in English is mandatory. Linguistic skills in Marathi / Tamil can be added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
· Knowledge of automotive drawings, GD&T, plastic component functionality, and tooling processes is desirable.
· High proficiency in product costing, pricing strategy, and negotiation skills is essential.
· Excellent communication skills (both oral & written), with strong presentation and persuasion capabilities.
· Hands-on experience with CRM tools, MS Office, and project management systems.
· Strong leadership traits with proven team management and peer collaboration record.
Personality Traits
· Self-starter with a customer-first mindset.
· Ability to lead from the front, handle pressure, and resolve complex challenges.
