Responsibilities
- Support Leadership teams in identifying opportunities & conceptualizing program objectives.
- Define program scope and structure program execution plan.
- Define baseline metrics/goals to quantify program outcomes.
- Gather and document requirements for the program.
- Own program(s) assigned and drive them to closure within defined timelines and budget.
- Work closely with program team members and provide operational support to program team members to drive program outcomes.
- Work with various business stakeholders to drive program support & coordination.
- Identify, manage, resolve and/or escalate issues/risks at the program level.
- Report progress on program status to the program sponsor and stakeholders
- Support organization development activities such as hiring, training, planning, etc.
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. MBA would be a plus
- 9-12 years of overall experience with exposure to business analysis or program management

Industrial Scientific product development is a team of skilled engineers, designers and technicians in the disciplines of electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineering. Third-party design partners are utilized (both locally and abroad) to augment our in-house team or to provide specific expertise. For the most part, we build what we design - often in our modern factory right here in Western Pennsylvania.
We design and develop a wide variety of world-class gas detection instruments, sensors, accessories and infrastructure for internet connectivity and remote management. Our designs utilize the latest mixed-signal embedded computing technology, mechanical packaging, miniaturization, and compelling user interfaces. We partner with a dedicated, in-house application software team providing feature-rich PC- and web-based applications that help our customers get the most out of their instruments. We also work with our in-house sensor engineering team on the latest technologies in gas hazard detection.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
A Project Manager serves a key leader in our product development team. This person is responsible for coordinating the execution of all product development activities through our corporate stage-gate process.
This person is responsible for leading, challenging and motivating our cross-functional development teams while fostering a spirit of innovation and excellence. This person is responsible for generating, managing and communicating to project plans, ensuring deliverables are met, and otherwise ensuring the successful business outcome of the given project.
The duties include but are not limited to:
+ Lead cross-functional development teams through the development of project plans, schedules and budgets
+ Drive Agile delivery using Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
+ Collaborate with Product Owners, QA, UI/UX and Firmware teams to align requirements and priorities.
+ Manage backlogs, sprints, and Kanban flow for multiple parallel initiatives.
+ Ensure deliverables are delivered on time, within budget and meet quality standards
+ Track and report performance to project plans and budgets
+ Prepare and present comprehensive project reviews and status reports
+ Drive continuous improvements to our project management processes & stage-gate product development process
Required Qualifications:
+ 3+ years effectively leading cross-functional technical teams or equivalent experience
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or business from an accredited university or equivalent degree/experience
+ Strong hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban) and excellent command over Agile tooling: Jira, Azure DevOps, Trello, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Product Development stage-gate process experience
+ Master's degree in engineering or Business from an accredited university or equivalent degree/experience
+ Prior experience designing products to UL, CSA, ATEX, CE and IEC specifications
+ Scrum certification (e.g., CSM, PSM I) or PMP/Prince2 a plus.
+ Familiarity with lean, process validation and/or six sigma
