Job Description
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and certified Lead Drone Operations Specialist to establish and manage cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) operations for diverse applications. This is a fully remote position, ideal for an expert who can design, implement, and oversee complex drone missions from anywhere in India. The role demands a strong understanding of aviation regulations, flight planning, sensor integration, and data analysis.

- Design and develop comprehensive drone operation protocols, safety procedures, and flight plans for various industries including logistics, surveying, agriculture, and infrastructure inspection.
- Oversee the selection, procurement, and maintenance of a diverse fleet of drones and associated sensor payloads.
- Ensure strict adherence to all national and international aviation regulations and certification requirements for UAV operations.
- Manage a team of certified drone pilots, providing training, performance management, and ensuring operational excellence.
- Develop and implement rigorous pre-flight and post-flight inspection checklists and operational readiness assessments.
- Lead the integration of advanced sensor technologies (e.g., LiDAR, thermal imaging, multispectral) into drone platforms for data acquisition.
- Oversee the processing, analysis, and interpretation of data collected from drone operations, delivering actionable insights to clients and stakeholders.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for drone-based service delivery.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients regarding drone operations and data acquisition.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in drone technology, software, and regulations, recommending upgrades and new applications.
- Develop and deliver training programs for clients and internal teams on safe and effective drone operation and data utilization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to drone hardware, software, and flight control systems.
- Contribute to business development by identifying new opportunities for drone applications and services.
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid Drone Pilot License (e.g., DGCA certification) with extensive flight hours.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of hands-on experience in professional drone operations, including flight planning, execution, and data management.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing drone operations teams.
- In-depth knowledge of various drone platforms, sensors, flight control software, and data processing techniques.
- Strong understanding of aviation law, safety management systems (SMS), and risk assessment for UAVs.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects in a remote setting, ensuring high levels of quality and safety.
- Experience with industry-specific applications of drone technology (e.g., GIS, photogrammetry, thermal inspection) is highly desirable.
