As the Quantitative and Statistical Modeling Professional in our Transformation Quantitative Research Center of Excellence** **team, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm.
You will partner with Line of Business and Corporate teams to conduct in-depth statistical and economic analysis on data assets to develop model methodologies for various business purposes including capital stress testing, budgeting and ad-hoc analytics. You will analyze existing technical documentation, gain access to estimation input data and assumptions, and experiment to create statistical/mathematical models. You will also be responsible for creating documentation supporting any newly created approaches and for preparing for independent model reviews. You will learn about forecasting methodologies across various banking and markets products and to understand the end-to-end process from estimation design to implementation.
**Responsibilities**:
- Design and develop new Statistical/Econometric models or re-develop the existing ones to meet business needs
- Document models as required and manage the end-to-end independent model review process
- Partner to automate models that have been designed onto the firm’s forecasting platform
**Required qualifications, capabilities and skills**:
- Master Degree in Statistics or Economics; advanced degree is a plus
- 5- 7 years of work experience in statistical modeling, macroeconomic variable related work, risk management, or a related field
- Experience in performing large dataset quality checks and analytics using Python, R programming skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to details

Applications are invited from the meritorious students having Master’s qualification in Statistics or related fields for the position of Research Project Fellow (RPF) at Nilkaml School of Mathematics and Applied Statistics(NSOMASA), Mumbai. The job description involves administrative and academic support to students pursuing faculty supervised courses of two credits each during three semesters, namely, data driven analytics/treatise research projects both at UG and PG level and one semester of 9 credits PG internship programme either at an Industry or the School. The RPF will be responsible for initiating students to the culture of research, starting with identification of research problems, monitoring and tracking progress, preparing presentation schedule, and such other related duties assigned by respective program chairpersons. The RPF will contribute to the overall management of the research projects, maintenance and closure of activities including submission, evaluation and compiling compendium of project reports.
The RPF is expected to collaborate with at least one faculty member of the Department in an ongoing research project. Subject to the fulfilment of eligibility criteria of the NMIMS University’s Ph. - Work with embedding techniques such as TF-IDF, Word2Vec, GloVe, FastText, and transformer-based models including BERT, Sentence-BERT, OpenAI, and Azure OpenAI embeddings.
- Apply dimensionality reduction methods (PCA, t-SNE, UMAP) to analyze and visualize embedding spaces.
- Use cosine similarity, Euclidean distance, and approximate nearest neighbor algorithms like FAISS and ScaNN for similarity search and clustering.
- Integrate embedding outputs into downstream applications such as intent detection, topic modeling, semantic deduplication, document ranking, and retrieval systems.

- Build and deploy predictive models with logistic/linear regression, random forests, gradient boosting techniques (XGBoost, LightGBM), SVM, Naive Bayes, k-means, and hierarchical clustering.
- Employ statistical inference techniques including hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, bootstrapping, Bayesian inference, multicollinearity diagnostics, residual analysis, and time series forecasting (ARIMA, SARIMA).
- Evaluate model performance using ROC/Precision-Recall curves, AUC, confusion matrices, F1-score, lift/gain charts, and KS statistics.

About the role:
The Senior Lecturer will engage in and increasingly develop and lead academic or other collaborations that enable novel and high-quality teaching, research or creative activities, with applied experience in the data sciences/research methods discipline area. The position will lead growing, increasingly productive, high-quality research, scholarship and creative activities generating high impact outputs. The Senior Lecturer will lead unit and course teaching teams in undergraduate programs to improve the student learning experience and outcomes related to data sciences, statistics, and research methods in psychology. The appointee will focus on delivering and continuously refining the units pertaining to data sciences and research methods and other units as required.
The incumbent will report to the Head of School and will interact regularly with other research and teaching staff within the School and the Faculty. They can expect to be an active member of the SEED Lifespan Strategic Research Centre and to collaborate with other researchers in the school, and more broadly in the Faculty and University. They will liaise with students at all levels.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will:
- Lead unit and course teaching teams in research methods and work collaboratively with other teaching teams in the faculty to develop effective unit/courses curricula and learning materials (including through course leadership roles). Lead review of units and courses and implement refinements.
- Integrate industry, clinical and/or research practice into unit/course design to improve student learning experiences, success, engagement and resources.
- Lead the development and/or adoption of new innovation in curriculum design within a course and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices across different levels / modes of delivery.
- Design collaborative learning opportunities at the course level. Support diverse learners by designing accessible and inclusive unit and course material and practices.
- Develop effective assessment tasks and rubrics at unit and course level. Provide clear assessment criteria and timely feedback to learners to demonstrate learning outcomes. Lead moderation of assessment tasks at course level and adapt practices to improve learning outcomes.
- Provide academic support to students within units and courses and work collaboratively to improve student support services to optimise student outcomes.

- Make a significant contribution to pedagogy research projects and demonstrate a disciplinary reputation in teaching scholarship and pedagogical research. Complete the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Learning and Teaching.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- PhD in psychology or a relevant discipline and/or advanced qualifications and experience in psychology or a relevant discipline area.
- Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in undergraduate programs especially in research methods and data sciences, including innovative curriculum design and research supervision.
