Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Vadodara for a Quality Control Engineer. The Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for conducting quality control tests, analyzing data, and ensuring that our products meet the required standards. Day-to-day tasks include implementing quality assurance procedures, monitoring production processes, and collaborating with the production team to resolve any quality issues. The role also involves documentation of quality control activities and reporting findings to management.

Job Title: QC Engineer – PEB

Department: Quality Control

Location: Hyderabad

Reports To: Quality Manager / Plant Head

Job Purpose:

Responsible for ensuring quality standards in fabrication, welding, painting, and erection activities of Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) in line with company procedures, client requirements, and relevant codes/standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and monitor raw materials, fabricated components, and finished structures as per drawings and specifications.
• Conduct quality checks for welding, bolting, cutting, and assembly processes in line with PEB standards.
• Carry out dimensional inspection of built-up sections, secondary members, and assemblies.
• Monitor surface preparation, blasting, and painting/coating quality as per required standards.
• Prepare inspection reports, maintain quality records, and ensure traceability of materials.
• Coordinate with production, erection, and project teams to resolve quality issues.
• Ensure compliance with ISO/IS/ASTM/AISC/MBMA standards and client specifications.
• Participate in internal and external audits.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in the quality management system.

Skills & Competencies:

• Knowledge of fabrication and erection processes for PEB structures.
• Sound knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, SAW, MIG, etc.).
• Understanding of painting and coating standards.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.

Qualification & Experience:

• Diploma / B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical / Civil Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in Quality Control in PEB / Steel Structure fabrication industry.

• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and automotive components at various stages of the production process.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments and testing equipment to verify specifications and tolerances.
• Identify and document any defects, deviations, or non-conformities according to established quality standards.
• Collaborate with production supervisors and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Perform visual inspections for cosmetic defects, finish imperfections, and assembly accuracy.
• Test functional aspects of vehicles and components to ensure proper operation.
• Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including reports on findings and actions taken.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to process enhancements.
• Verify that all materials and components used in production meet required specifications.
• Calibrate and maintain inspection tools and equipment.
• Stay updated on industry quality standards and best practices in automotive manufacturing.

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in Automotive Technology or a related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as a Quality Control Inspector in the automotive industry.
• Proficiency with various inspection tools and measuring equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, perform manual tasks, and occasionally lift heavy items.

• Verify that all products conform to specified quality standards, blueprints, and technical documentation.
