SUMMARY

The role will be responsible to adding value from a global tax and compliance point of view with respect to International Tax, BEPS, POEM, MDR. This is an individual contributor who helps in positioning Amicorp’s products and services in alignment with the core business requirement. The role holder is responsible for analyzing the client entity structure as per the latest tax related regulations, including tax treaties, Economic Substance Requirements (ESR), anti-abuse rules, POEM, CFC, BEPS, Transfer Pricing Documentation; and should be able to analyze arrangements under the Mandatory Disclosure Rules (MDR, DAC6) in the European Union.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze tax legislations / regulations/ guidance to derive requirements independently.
  • Act as the Point of Contact for multiple jurisdictions for any escalations/queries on related to tax treaties, economic substance requirements, anti-abuse rules, CFC, BEPS, Transfer Pricing Documentation.
  • Support teams in local offices with analysis and reporting of Mandatory Disclosure Rules (MDR, DAC6) in the European Union.
  • Assist the Tax Team with the operational tasks as required by the changing dynamics of various jurisdictions, globally like BEPS, POEM, changing tax treaties under the MLI, etc.
  • Be updated with local and global latest tax and compliance laws aimed towards tax transparent economies.
  • Understand the Global taxation rules applicable to U.S. Persons and non-U.S. Persons
  • Work in cooperation with Reporting and Global Manager to arrive at a commercially viable solution for tax and compliance needs
  • Actively support Reporting Manager in creating manuals, policy documents, training materials, toolkits, etc.
  • Drive process excellence, automation, efficiency initiatives and Ensure SLAs & TAT (deliverables) are met.


CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree / MBA / Qualified Accountants.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in direct taxation, corporate taxation or international taxation with a tax advisory firm, law firm, trust or company management firm.
  • Prior BEPS, POEM, ESR, MDR experience preferred.
  • Strong commercial mindset, takes initiative, positive and proactive, dedicated, focused and revenue and target driven.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent client facing skills. Well-developed spoken and written communication skills and the ability to tailor style to relevant audiences and successfully liaise with people at different levels.
  • Excellent English language fluency; additional languages preferred.

How you will contribute

• Internal controls frame work design/execution/review to ensure fully compliant controlled environment to successfully get through internal/external/departmental audits/assessments.

o Annual Income Tax Returns Preparation & Filing.
o Collating information to defend Income Tax Assessments.
o Collating information to defend Transfer Pricing Assessments.
o Review & assist in finalisation of Tax Audit Reports in Form-3CD.
o Review & assist in finalisation of TP Certification in Form – 3CEB.
o Maintain litigation tracker and assessment tracker.
• Knowledge and experience with other Asia Pacific tax regimes would be advantageous.

  • Job Summary:

    The Assistant Manager works with Team Leaders, Tax Specialists, Sr. Tax Associates, Tax Associates, Consultants, Managers, Directors and Principals in India and US to lead Tax Compliance services for various clients which includes Tax return filing, return preparations, client setups, cleansing data, manage Tax bill verification, payment administration, refund data processing, tracking and logging notices, Business license processing, tracking & renewals and
    preparation of Sales & Use Tax Returns, reports, reconciliation/ quality control methods and review work of the team. Format, perform a thorough review and reconcile the data with source data from the client. They will provide regular and timely feedback on career management with career pathing to the respective team members while engaging them with Core jobs.

    Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results

    People:

  • Coaching and mentoring team members while defining their career paths
  • Responsible for people and performance management
  • Manages personnel (assignments, position requests, etc.)
  • Identify and conducts training on new tasks & refresher training as required
  • Manages practice group needs (equipment, supplies, software, training, etc.)
  • Plan work allocation and manage projects on a day to day basis.
  • Client:

  • Responsible for delivering SLA’s & KPI’s
  • Responds to U.S. stakeholder inquiries and requests from taxing agencies
  • Manages all aspects of the compliance process and reports status and results to U.S. stakeholders
  • Prepare reports as per the requirements from U.S. consultants/Managers
  • Collaborate with other AMs and above on Firm wide organizational initiatives
  • Leads process related calls representing India operations.
  • Value:

  • Manages and monitors all aspects of the monthly sales tax compliance cycle
  • Maintain process documentation and ensure the team follows the same
  • Maintains the sales tax calendar
  • Manages the preparation, review, and processing of tax returns & notices
  • Manages and assists in the preparation of tax returns
  • Create reports and process metrics and prepare necessary project management tools
  • Acquiring and validating tax rate information imposed by the Jurisdictions
  • Preparation of annual/biennial reports and auditing of Geocodes
  • Assigning the business license copies received from jurisdictions to the Ryan workflows/Applications
  • Filing of Sales & Use Tax Returns via paper and EDI for the various clients
  • Supports Business license renewals, preparations & registrations
  • Leads efforts on knowledge management and cross training – reports out PPI& IPI index scores
  • Performs quality assurance as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Education and Experience:

  • Masters or Bachelors’ Degree in Finance/ Commerce/ Accounting/ Business
  • 8+ years of experience in U.S. Sales & Use Tax domain.
  • Other skills:

  • At least 4 years of Team handling experience as a supervisor
  • Good understanding of Taxation concepts and excellent analytical & problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform quality assurance review, prepare procedural documents and metrics as required
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Expertise in Project Management & Quality Management
  • Ability to set up performance benchmarks for team and targeting entitlement levels in terms of team, as well as individual performance
