As a Procurement Category Manager, you will create and implement sourcing strategies for complex categories in the Professional Services (Consultant Procurement) domain for India and collaborate with internal business partners and suppliers to reduce risks and costs for Amazon while delivering value to our customers . You will develop mechanisms and metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery. Additionally, you will drive results through methods that include go to market strategies , competitive bidding, negotiating, and analyzing data and market trends for your category. You will also create regional/global Procurement processes and tools to drive innovation across teams.
The ideal candidate thinks long term, drives multiple initiatives, and communicates appropriately and influences customers and suppliers at all levels. You must be collaborative, but also work with significant autonomy. Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Manage one or more Professional Services (consultancy) categories for India, within the Professional Services procurement team
• Achieve cost savings through bidding, negotiations and strategic initiatives
• Understand customer requirements and analyze category data to establish and implement robust regional procurement category strategies that deliver value to the business
• Understand trends in customers’ needs and concerns across categories and regions to influence customers’ priorities
• Provide in-depth knowledge about the supply market and supplier capabilities, technically and geographically, to the business.
• Develop mechanisms and metrics to track supplier performance related to delivery, quality, and cost
• Create supplier scorecards to measure and track supplier performance

Flow assurance team provides subsea flow assurance engineering expertise and judgement in support of engineering risk, integrity management and the delivery of safe, compliant and efficient operations.

What you will deliver

  • Lead multiphase flow and flow assurance analysis within an operational or project support context, understand the relationship between such work and key flow assurance decisions, and influence others to achieve desired objectives to mitigate flow assurance risks. 

  • Lead flow assurance data analysis and presentation within an operational or project support context to enable continuous improvement in operational support, performance management of flow assurance activity and reporting of key performance metrics. 

  • Support BP’s engineering application of tools and design methods for multiphase flow, in the context of Flow Assurance, through delivering or directly managing modelling of relevant flow scenarios. 

  • Monitor, coordinate and manage BP staff flow assurance engineers, on site contract flow assurance engineers, or external suppliers, appropriate to the scale, complexity and business requirements of operating regions.

  • Challenge, prioritise and plan work requests to balance production risks with the available resources and effectiveness of response both in the short term and proactively anticipating major requirements over the next year.

  • Provide flow assurance operating philosophies to be executed by others, including chemical or operational requirements for both steady state and transient conditions (start-up and shut down).

Must have education / certifications:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant science or engineering discipline (chemical, mechanical or petroleum engineering). 

  • Working towards chartered engineer

Must have experience/skills :

  • Demonstrable knowledge of flow assurance risks and mitigation strategies, and a working knowledge of disciplines affected by or affecting flow assurance threats. 

  • Broad knowledge of the issues associated with single and multiphase thermo-hydraulics.

Process Safety Delivery Services Lead

The role overseas and manages the bpS process safety delivery team at bp TSI, delivering process safety engineering services to refineries and production regions. They will set up and manage a team to support closeout of Process safety actions for our operation assets. Additionally, as the senior process safety leader in Pune they will represent the process safety discipline in Pune. They will support the development and coaching of the the broader team of bpTSI engineers(YR1) in process safety. The role requires regular interactions with stakeholders across the business, to ensure the right team members are deployed to the right place at the right time and are delivering work to a high standard.

People and Business related:

  • Provide visible safety leadership in accordance with bp safety leadership principles, lifesaving rules and process safety fundamentals to model desired safety behaviors

  • Lead a team for excellence in discipline area engineering delivery, performance improvement, skills development and coaching

  • Build organizational capability, lead staff development, assess team performance, care for process safety engineers in Pune

Role Synopsis:

The Rotating Equipment Engineer will join the bp TSI discipline engineering team to provide deep engineering expertise, oversight, judgment and support to Production & Operations (P&O), bp Solutions (bpS) - Site Projects Team.

  • A Rotating Equipment Engineer with experience supporting site-based projects in oil and Gas/refinery operations. Well-versed in the selection, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of rotating machinery packages such as pumps, compressors, Steam and Gas turbines, Diesel engines, and gearboxes etc. . Demonstrates strong expertise in interpreting P&IDs, datasheets, and technical specifications to ensure alignment with project requirements and industry standards (API, ASME, ISO).

  • Experienced in executing capital projects involving brownfield modifications as well as greenfield facilities. Also experienced in supporting turnaround and shutdown activities,

  • Experienced in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, collaborating and driving delivery with others whilst working remotely, and ensuring mechanical integrity, safety compliance, and timely delivery of project milestones. Brings a hands-on approach to resolving equipment-related issues in high-pressure environments, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.

  • Proven track record of working closely with EPC contractors, vendors, and OEMs during project phases, from engineering design through construction and commissioning. Committed to delivering reliable, cost-effective solutions that support asset productivity and sustainability goals.

  • Proactively interact with other disciplines, squads, subfunctions and contractors to systematically resolve problems, applying informed engineering judgment to drive integrated, pragmatic solutions focused on risk management, production efficiency, defect elimination, & standardization

  • Ensure Engineering activities appropriately apply BP standards and processes such as Fit for Service and CVP (Capital value process).

What you will deliver

  • Provide Rotating Equipment engineering expertise to P&O bp Solutions Site Projects teams. Providing REE discipline review as needed to ensure small projects and modifications. Adhere to regulatory requirements, appropriate BP specifications, quality management requirements, and lifecycle operability standards.

  • Support hazard identification and risk assessment studies associated with revalidations of small projects, or modifications for existing assets (e.g.,MoCs, HAZOPs, LOPAs, HAZIDs, Human Factors Analysis and What Ifs). Support safety related actions assigned REE actions associated with HAZOP/LOPA findings ,HVL’s, Alert bulletins, audit findings , and complex engineering studies.

  • Support the Site Projects Team and Engineering Contractor to deliver Rotating Equipment scopes in front-end loading (FEL) and detailed engineering of projects, including to:

  • Provide technical oversight, review, guidance and approval of design engineering and construction contractor deliverables. Ensure that Engineering Contractor(s) apply bp’s Engineering Practices in engineering designs

  • Equipment specification in requisition/datasheets and selection as well as engineering package technical content.

  • Review of technical bid analysis of Rotating equipment/packages. Provide technical evaluations of requests for exceptions/deviations to specifications or standards.

  • Determine risks to project delivery and ensure adequate risk mitigation plans are in place.

  • Work with an engineering contractor(s) to verify they are performing required

activities in line with project schedules, and assist bp’s Engineering Manager in

contract performance management.

  • Review of Vendor Quality Control Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, documents and drawings. Assure quality and consistency in Rotating and its auxiliary equipment/complete package delivery on projects.

  • Record and share relevant learnings.

  • Approve deviations from ETPs with an appropriate mitigation plan.

  • Guiding projects in conducting right level of Rotating engineering work in FEL-1/2/3

What you will need to be successful

Must have educational qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or demonstrated equivalent)

Preferred education/certifications:

  • Chartered Engineer or registered professional engineer

Minimum years of relevant experience:

  • 8 to 15 years in oil and gas/petrochemical/ refining/ chemical or equivalent, with minimum five (5) years’ experience of Engineering work in Capital/small projects. Strong preference will be given to experience in brownfield projects.

The tank focused Pressure Systems Integrity Engineer supports the tank RBI implementation and sustainability, tank integrity assessments and supporting our production and operations assets requests related to storage tanks and pressure systems. This is a technical role, expected to proactively support assigned assets for their successful RBI implementation, management and ever-greening, engaging with otherfieldss, sub-functions, and contractors to implement the pace setter RBI processes.

The role is expected to support the assigned assets via proactive data driven analysis, continuous improvement of integrity processes, coaching and technical support and guidance for PSI, mechanical, maintenance and reliability engineers on Tank RBI excellence and applications, ever-greening of the bp’s tank integrity strategies and embedding continuous improvement and learning into our RBI standard technical practices.

Alignment to the bp Operating Management System (OMS) and safety leadership principles to build a purposeful, winning, and caring culture.

What you will deliver:

Discipline Related:

  • Develop and maintain tank related and tank RBI methodology documents, such as management system and technical instructions consistent with industry standard processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the tank inspection optimization and standardization activities, develop the optimization opportunities, work instructions and job aides as required and needed
  • Implement Tank RBI programs in commercially available software tools and maintaining the inspection data management systems (IDMS) synchronicity. Supervise the sustained health and lead self-verification practices and KPIs around it.
  • Perform risk analysis, updating RBI inspection plans, and ever-greening the Tank RBI analysis.
  • Verify Tank RBI data quality and assumptions through quality audits.
  • Facilitate damage mechanism assessments/reviews and identify damage mechanisms.
  • Support global integrity programs implementation and works with operating sites
  • Resolve inspection and test plans for tanks.

Role Synopsis:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will join the bpTSI discipline engineering team to provide deep electrical engineering expertise, oversight, judgment and support to the Production & Operations (P&O) bp Solutions (bpS) Site Projects Team. This role is based at the bp Pune office but may also require contractor facing work at major engineering contractor offices intermittently.

  • Provide electrical engineering expertise within the P&O bp Solutions Site Projects teams.
  • Deliver, support, review, and approve technical deliverables in service of site projects, across all phases of project execution
  • Support the Site Projects Team and Engineering Contractor(s) to deliver electrical engineering scopes, including to
  • provide technical oversight, review, guidance and approval of design engineering and construction contractor deliverables
  • electrical equipment specification and selection as well as engineering package technical content
  •  review technical bid analysis of equipment.
  • provide technical evaluations of requests for exceptions/deviations to specifications or standards.
  • determine risks to project delivery and ensure adequate risk mitigation plans are in place
  •  provide electrical engineering expertise to project MoCs and to site projects / modifications
  • assure quality and consistency in electrical equipment delivery on projects
  • Review of Vendor documents and drawings
  •  Assist in preparation of factory acceptance test (FAT) and site acceptance test (SAT) plans.
  • Lead resolution of complex technical issues for electrical equipment.
  • Support other engineers in the ICE discipline engineering team to deliver electrical engineering expertise through mentoring, coaching and peer review
  • Coach earlier career engineers to aid in their technical and professional development
  • Provide visible safety leadership in accordance with bp safety leadership principles, lifesaving rules and process safety fundamentals to model desired safety culture and behaviors
  • Record relevant lessons learned in the bp shared learning system, escalate as necessary and incorporate into local activities, both in the discipline engineering community as well as the site projects teams; and follow through to drive incorporation into specifications, practices and procedures
  • Support performance management through implementation, measurement, and analysis of relevant KPI’s to drive continuous improvement.Must have educational qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Preferred education/certifications:
  • Chartered Engineer or registered professional engineer
  • Minimum years of relevant experience:
  • 12 years in oil and gas/petrochemical/ refining/ chemical or equivalent, with minimum eight (8) years’ experience of Engineering work in Capital projects. Strong preference will be given to experience in brownfield projects.
  • Total years of experience:12+ Years
  • Must have experiences/skills (To be hired with):
  • Substantial experience and understanding of engineering, maintenance and operation of electrical equipment including troubleshooting support, reliability, obsolescence and equipment lifecycle issues, alarms management, digital security, and software in oil & gas processing facilities
  • Substantial experience supporting greenfield and brownfield projects, including concept design and analysis
  • FEL-3 and Detailed Engineering experience on projects
  • Experience with a variety of voltage systems, from 120V to 13.8kV
  • Project experience of switchboards, transformers, motors, cable sizing
  • Working knowledge of electrical equipment design, specification, analysis including engineering calculations, in addition to installation, repair, maintenance and electrical safe working practices
  • Practical working knowledge of governing codes, industry standards (API, IEC, NEN, ATEX, IEEE, BS) and local regulations relevant to Electrical engineering, and proven practical application of engineering standards and practices for Electricalequipment
  • Track record of improving safety and reliability at the electrical facility through engagement and influence
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels
  • Good to have experiences/skills (Can be trained for – learning/on-the-job):
  • Experienced in electrical systems design and maintenance, with a focus on transformers, power distribution, and emergency/back-up power equipment
  • Proficient in remote teamwork and collaborative delivery
  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional engineering improvements
  • Skilled in brownfield modifications, equipment skid package design, front-end engineering, and technical evaluation
  • Site construction and commissioning experience
  • Proven track record in risk management and electrical safety
  • Consistently delivers results under pressure.
