Provision of deep process engineering expertise and judgment in service of the assets, working closely with Squad Leads to ensure efficient handling of all issues that require engineering input to resolve. Ensure pragmatic solutions are implemented for risk mitigation, production efficiency improvement, maintenance, defect elimination and engineering standardization in support of safe, reliable and compliant operations.
What you will deliver
Provide Process Engineering expertise to other teams by performing and reviewing complex, or non-routine Process engineering calculations and analyses
Support production facilities through troubleshooting, identification of facility optimization options to grow production (debottlenecking) and avoid deferrals.
Keep asset HYSYS models up to date in collaboration with the Process Engineer (Production Management)
Provide Process Engineering expertise to MoCs, brownfield projects and modifications, hazard identification and risk assessment processes
Provide Process Engineering expertise in performing incident investigations and defect investigations
Ensure that appropriate process safety-related assessments are carried out for Risk Assessments to ensure that risks associated with safety system bypasses/defeats
Provide Process and Process Safety (P&PS) expertise to Operations, including monitoring design and operating envelope excursions, ensuring that P&PS engineering documentation is up to date
Support the regional Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) and Major Accident Risk (MAR) revalidation by partnering with bpSolutions for delivery
Provide Process Engineering expertise to delivery of regional actions and lead on resolution of complex, multi-disciplinary technical issues where the dominant component is process or process safety related
Record relevant learnings in shared learning systems, incorporates into local activities and escalates high priority lessons

About the role
Global Subsurface Solutions (GSS) delivers quality, impactful, subsurface technical products to address critical business challenges across bp’s oil, gas, and low carbon businesses. As a bp TSI petrophysicist you will support prioritised well planning, resource progression and low carbon opportunities across bp’s global portfolio. Communication of subsurface uncertainty and risk, and the ability to integrate deeply with other disciplines, will be key to your success.
What you will deliver
Analyse and integrate available well data to define the rock and fluid frameworks that underpin integrated subsurface products.
Describe petrophysical uncertainty and alternative scenarios at the well- and reservoir-scale, and communicate their impact effectively.
Make recommendations on data acquisition plans.
Become an active member of bp’s petrophysics community, learning from (and sharing) best practice, and seeking to innovate to solve technical and business problems.
What you will need to be successful
Must have educational qualifications:
Advanced Degree (MA, MSc or PhD) in geology, geophysics, reservoir engineering or relevant science-based educational curriculum.
Minimum years of relevant experience:
At least 5 years of experience as a petrophysicist in an integrated oil and gas company, or with a service provider.
Must have experience/skills:
Excellent reservoir characterization and log interpretation skills (using open hole logs, core, pressures and fluid data, mudlogs/lithlogs, and any available dynamic data).
Comfortable working with large datasets and taking a pragmatic approach to analysis.
Familiarity with both the latest wireline / LWD tools and vintage tools.
Integration of petrophysical products with geological models/scenarios.
Highly proficient in a well log interpretation package, ideally Techlog.
Self-motivated, analytical and resourceful, with a strong ability and desire to collaborate and integrate across disciplines.
Proficient in spoken and written English.
Good to have experiences/skills:
Cased hole log interpretation and integration.
Spotfire / PowerBI-style data visualisation.
Experience using Petrel.
Computer programming (ideally in Python) including statistical methods, machine learning and data analytics.
You will work with
Your line manager will be the Petrophysics Discipline Leader supporting the TSI Unit within GSS. Technical coaching and assurance will be provided by the Eastern Hemisphere Regions Petrophysics Discipline Leader, based in the United Kingdom.
You will work in Pune, India, but will be remotely deployed into an integrated subsurface team consisting of 5-10 inter-disciplinary technical members based in multiple locations. You will become part of bp’s supportive global Petrophysics Community, with access to Communities of Practice, technical specialists and subject matter experts to help you develop your technical skills.

Intent
Corrosion Engineer is responsible for offering their expertise in corrosion and materials engineering, providing critical judgment to support the Region integrity teams in managing engineering risks and ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the facilities.

Responsibilities
- Provide corrosion and materials engineering expertise to other squads across P&O to manage corrosion and erosion threats on equipment (as barrier Owner)
- Ensure pragmatic solutions are implemented to manage risk, production efficiency, defect elimination and standardization, to deliver safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
- Support corrosion threat assessments for regions and projects and development of Corrosion mitigation programs across IM and other teams.
- Develop and implement performance management dashboards for IM programs with regional teams.
- Review and endorse corrosion-related metrics (e.g. corrosion control matrices and LOPC data) and intervene where appropriate.

The offshore structural engineer will provide subject area expertise for project and operation support, including greenfield and brownfield projects, operational modifications, life extension, and decommissioning support. The engineer will proactively collaborate with other subject areas and contractors to systematically resolve technical challenges, apply sound engineering judgment to drive integrated, pragmatic solutions for risk management, project delivery, operational efficiency, defect elimination, and standardization.
The offshore structural engineer would be based in Pune, India.
We are looking for a candidate with broad experience in both topside (floating or fixed) and jacket design, construction, and installation, as well as a proven technical background who can make fit-for-purpose recommendations for projects and operations. In addition, the candidate needs strong team member leadership skills and the ability to optimally communicate technical outcomes to ensure engineering risks are understood, controlled, and continuously reduced across the business to deliver safe and reliable results.
What you will deliver
Responsibilities
- You will be a coordinated member of the central Civil & Structural (C&S) team, Pune branch, providing technical service work for operations and projects to ensure the safe delivery of projects and the maintenance of operating assets in a suitable condition to deliver the company’s safety and business goals.
- As an offshore structural engineer, you will:
- define the structural engineering scope of work for new construction, modifications to existing assets, life extension, and decommissioning, focusing on topside structure or jacket;
- Provide technical assurance for third-party engineering deliveries, ensuring design and operations follow industry codes, company technical practices, and performance standards;
- Perform independent verification for challenging analyses conducted by third party engineers;
- Manage relationships with third-party providers and contractors;
- assess the impact of significant weight and metocean changes to operating assets, and
- deliver fit-for-purpose solutions that consider operational constraints and asset as-is conditions.
- You will actively supply to the offshore systems Community of Practice by sharing the standard processes and learning. Additionally, you will:
- support the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with the development and upkeep of company engineering technical practices, ensuring they are fit for purpose, and
- work with SMEs to address lessons learned.
- You will drive efforts to ensure offshore structural risks, including pre-service and in-place conditions, operation, or metocean factors, are understood, controlled, and continuously reduced across the business to deliver safe and reliable results, and effectively communicate these risks to business and technical team members.
