Job Description
**Overall, Purpose of the Role:** Working to strict safety and quality requirements, help to achieve daily production requirements in terms of quality and quantity to meet customer expectations and requirements, optimising efficiency and maintaining operational excellence. Able to work on many/all areas of the production process with little supervision.
**Key Responsibilities** :
**General and Task Management**
· Measure, grade and feed batches of raw materials into production machinery/process
· Operate production line equipment such as Mixer machines, Cold & Hot Moulding machines, Baking Ovens, Paint booth etc. Set and operate hand-controlled or computer-controlled/PLC based machines
· Monitor the production process, job set ups and carry out basic testing and quality checks
· Adjust machine controls whilst monitoring the production process and outputs
· Manufacture goods on a production line & make quality control checks on products
· Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and the machines
· Report equipment faults to maintenance staff
· Fit parts to machinery and equipment
· Ensure parts are to the correct tolerances and meet customer and internal standards and specifications
· Weekly inventory stock - Record how much raw material has been used during production and the number of items produced
· Stack goods appropriately & adherence of FIFO
· Contribute to continuous improvement activities
· Understanding of 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) process
· Understanding of production waste, downtime, scrap and re-work

**Key missions of the position:** - Lead commodity supplier quality with experience of 6-10 years
- B. Tech in Mechanical or Metallurgy or Mechatronics
- Ensure supplier quality "expert" role, supplier selection , approve and support supplier development and create return of experience and same will be capitalized for similar parts and processes .
- Monitor performance & improve them.
SQ Engineer is located at Rohtak -regional . Commodity in charge to co-ordinate with central SQ commodity team. Ensure specific needs and support with right quality parts to assembly for the Rohtak plant and Global Sourcing .
**Main responsibilities :**
Lead Casting, forging and Machining commodity supplier panel for quality systems and Manufacturing processes.
+ Coordinate with GCB, COC Engg, , SQE -SQA team to ensure that assessment audit is performed taking into account expertise of the commodity (special process, commodity check list, product / process specifications .)
+ Perform commodity assessment audits ( Process and System ) as per plan
+ Participate in sourcing committee and has the authority to accept or refuse the selection of new suppliers
+ Ensure SQR clause by clause is in line with the commodity requirements and objectives.
+ Has authority to reject and approve the supplier and Parts.
Ensure quality "expert" role to support supplier development and return of experience in Casting ,Forging and Machining .
**Expertise and Return of experience:**
+ Coordinate the creation of commodity purchasing technical specifications & check lists.
+ Lead the process of return of experience taking into account all LLC issued within commodity
+ Provide expertise to other sites (SQA / SQE) and other networks (Commodity Lead buyers, Supplier Development, Engineering, Industrial . )
**Support development of suppliers:**
+ Contribute with Supplier Development team to implement efficient improvement plans for Top Worst suppliers and recurrent issues, through:
+ SQA network: identification and implementation of key development actions to be led at supplier place for
Serial production and resolve chronic quality issues by collaborating with Supplier and Engineering.
+ SQE network: Supplier TFC with site SQE & Engineers , APQP for new projects and parts / process validation.
+ Problem Solving Methodology ( 8D, PDCA -FTA and 7 basic quality tools)
Perform trainings in order to improve supplier's knowledge and ability to meet WABTEC requirements.
**Follow performance and results:**
+ Ensure accuracy of score cards data before communication to supplier by the Commodity Lead buyer
+ Take part to the quarterly supplier performance review with Global Commodity buyer
+ Alert and escalate in case of supplier performance if not at expected FT level
