Job Description
As the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager in MSAF, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for employees while minimizing the environmental impact of operations. Your primary responsibility will be to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs and initiatives that comply with government regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
EHS Program Development : Develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures that align with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and promote a proactive safety culture throughout the organization.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation : Identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement measures to minimize workplace accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents. Regularly inspect facilities and equipment to identify and address potential safety or environmental concerns.
Training and Education : Develop and deliver EHS training programs to educate employees on safe work practices, hazard identification, emergency response procedures, and environmental stewardship. Ensure that all employees receive appropriate training and maintain records of training activities.
Incident Investigation and Reporting : Lead investigations into workplace incidents, accidents, near misses, and environmental spills. Identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and implement measures to prevent recurrence. Prepare and submit incident reports as required by regulatory agencies.
Regulatory Compliance : Stay updated with applicable EHS laws, regulations, and standards. Ensure that the organization maintains compliance with all regulatory requirements, permits, licenses, and reporting obligations. Liaise with regulatory agencies as necessary and manage EHS audits and inspections.
Emergency Preparedness : Develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire safety, evacuation procedures, and hazardous material handling. Conduct drills and exercises to test emergency preparedness and coordinate with relevant authorities and emergency response teams.
Environmental Management : Monitor and manage environmental aspects of manufacturing operations, such as air emissions, wastewater management, hazardous waste disposal, and energy conservation. Implement strategies to reduce the organization's environmental footprint and promote sustainability initiatives.
Data Analysis and Reporting : Collect and analyze EHS data, including incident reports, near misses, training records, and compliance metrics. Prepare regular reports on EHS performance, trends, and improvement opportunities. Present findings to management and make recommendations for enhancing EHS performance.
