    Position Description

    As a Material Controller you are responsible to ensure parts arrive in time and with the right quantities to our plant.

    As a Material Controller, your primary tasks are

    Supplier Coordination:

  • Daily monitor the deliveries from suppliers according to the call off and act on deviations
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, order confirmations, and discrepancies
  • Track inbound shipments and update delivery status in the system.
  • Assist in resolving delivery and quality issues with suppliers.
  • Monitor daily MRP Alarms (missing ASN) and take necessary actions
  • Monitor in-transit ASN’s, call off/ IDOC’s report in SAP system
  • Update MRP parameters in SAP time to time as and when new parts and new suppliers are introduced

  • Run reports from the ERP system to analyze material shortages, and supplier performance (SDP report).
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in material flow and inventory control.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications

    Education:

  • Bachelor's degree Engineering, Bachelor of Science (Mathematics/Computer Science/Chemistry) Bachelor of Commerce.
  • Experience:

  • 0-2 years of experience in a supply chain, materials management, or logistics role.
  • Prior internship or experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment is a significant plus.
  • Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

    •Analyse inbound logistics data to identify efficiency improvements and cost-saving opportunities.
    •Optimize dock scheduling, unloading processes, and space utilization for smooth inbound flow.
    •Implement 5S, KAIZEN or other process improvement methodologies to enhance operations.
    •Collaborate with procurement, inventory control, and supply chain teams to align inbound processes with business needs.
    Compliance & Safety Standards:
    •Ensure all incoming shipments comply with regulatory and company policies.
    •Maintain accurate receiving and inventory records for audit and reporting purposes.
    •Oversee proper handling and storage of hazardous, temperature-sensitive, or high-value materials if applicable.
     

    Required Qualifications & Skills:
    Education & Experience:
    •Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
    •3 to 7 years of experience in inbound logistics, warehouse operations, or inventory management.
    •Experience in managing teams and optimizing inbound workflows.
    Technical & Soft Skills:
    •Strong knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and ERP platforms like SAP, Oracle, or similar software.
    •Familiarity with barcode scanning, RFID technology, and automated inventory tracking.
    •Ability to analyse logistics data, forecast stock levels, and improve inbound processes.
    •Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    •Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse environment.
     

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
    •Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
    •Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed to meet operational demands.
