The Cathodic Protection Engineer is accountable for providing CP engineering expertise in the service of the Production and Refinery integrity teams and projects teams in designing, operating and maintaining CP systems for the delivery of safe, compliant, and efficient operations. The role will support bothy onshore and offshore operations.

• Provide CP engineering expertise to production and refinery operations teams across P&O (production & operations) (Operations, Maintenance & Reliability, Projects Ops, Turnarounds) to support operating CP systems on equipment.
• Support projects teams with the design of CP systems for new build or facility modifications.
• Support operations with interpreting CP monitoring data, troubleshooting systems and interference problems to ensure protection.

About the role

The PSI Engineer RBI supports RBI implementation and sustain through reassessment, damage mechanism reviews (DMR), inspection plan development, condition monitoring location (CML) identification, inspection data management system (IDMS), inspection grading, RBI calibration, mechanical integrity assessment, remaining life and fitness for service (FFS). This is a technical role, expected to proactively support assigned assets for their successful RBI implementation, management and ever-greening, engaging with other subject areas, sub-functions, and contractors to implement the pace setter RBI processes. The role is expected to support the assigned assets via proactive data driven analysis, continuous improvement of integrity processes, coaching and technical support and guidance for PSI engineers, Corrosion and materials engineers on RBI excellence and applications, ever greening of our integrity strategies and embedding continuous improvement and learning into our RBI standard technical practices. Alignment to the bp Operating Management System (OMS) and safety leadership principles to build a purposeful, winning, and caring culture.

What you will deliver

Field Related:

• Develop RBI Methodology Documents, such as Management System and Technical Instructions consistent with industry standard processes and regulatory requirements.
• Implement RBI programs in commercially available inspection data management systems (IDMS). Supervise their sustained health and lead self verification practices and critical metrics around it.
• Perform risk analysis, updating RBI inspection plans, and ever greening the RBI analysis.
• Verify RBI data quality and assumptions through quality audits.
• Participate in damage mechanism assessments/reviews and identify damage mechanisms.
• Participate/perform fixed equipment system and circuitization.
• Determine inspection and test plans for fixed equipment and piping.
• Manage a team of technicians, specialists, and engineers to perform data entry, develop corrosion loops and create inspection circuits, CML location, NDT techniques application, etc.

• Provide QA/QC function and quality checks of new projects RBI work.
• Conduct NCR review with the project management team.
• Provide RBI software support for the production system and fix potential issues.
• Participate/perform mechanical integrity (MI) gap assessments and audits.
• Define and implement strategies to systematically roll-over inspection plans.

• 8+ years of relevant technical field experience in oil/gas or petrochemical industries, pressure systems integrity management and RBI
• Preferably certified in API 580, 581 and 571.

• Working experience in inspection, test, and preventive maintenance (ITPM) development as applicable to the recognized and generally accepted good engineering practices (RAGAGEPs).
• Experience applying RBI software systems, including, GE APM IM modules, and other inspection data management systems (IDMS)
• Experience in fitness for service (FFS) as per API 579-1.
• Process knowledge of oil refineries, gas processing, and chemical plants is preferable.

• Provide subsea controls engineering expertise as the owner for the global subsea controls’ equipment condition supervising data and tools.

The offshore structural engineer will provide discipline expertise for operation support, including maintenance, inspection, anomaly management, and brownfield projects. • Being an integrated member (remotely) in the regional Integrity Management (IM) squad team to handle the regional offshore bottom founded (fixed) structures in a suitable condition to deliver the company’s safety and business goals.
• Supporting the regional deployed C&S engineers to deliver the regional structural integrity management plans based on company guidance and industry codes; responsible for structural inspection, monitoring, and maintenance strategies in figuring out facility’s current condition; handling significant deterioration in topside, jacket and foundations conditions or any deviation following the offshores structures performance standards through the anomaly management process, quantifying the risks, and making sound engineering recommendations for mitigation actions.
• Being the field engineer in defining the structural engineering scope of work for brownfield projects and providing technical assurance for third-party engineering deliveries, maintaining relationships with third-party providers and contractors, ensuring design and operations follow industry codes and technical practices and performance standards, assessing the impact of significant changes in load (weight) or changes (metocean or others) to operating conditions on the integrity of the assets.
• Supporting the regional severe weather evacuation preparation; and following a rare acute storm, seismic or ship impact event; or during winter storm inspection.
• Supervising modifications and associated weight changes on platforms, and maintaining as-designed and as-is structural models for the platforms.
• Driving efforts to ensure structural risks are understood, controlled, and continuously reduced across the business to deliver safe and reliable operating results, effectively communicating risks to business and technical stakeholders.

What you will deliver

• Provides ICE subject area expertise related to instrumented protective systems and process controls in support of the TSI based region squads and solutions program activity
• Assess, prioritize and support the delivery of the subject area engineering backlog
• Maintains 6wk, 12wk, 8Q lookahead and prioritizes the subject area backlog to support the Squad Leads to deliver against agreed priorities and KPIs
