About the Role:
As a Maintenance Engineer , you will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of production equipment. Your expertise in troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and advanced technologies like PLCs, HMI systems, and robotics will drive efficiency and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot machinery and perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Operate and maintain HMI systems for equipment monitoring.
- Work with PLC communication protocols, loop checking, and I/O simulations.
- Handle field instruments, including sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
- Create and interpret electrical diagrams, designs, and related documents.
- Minimize downtime by achieving top-class OEE, MTTE, MTBF, and Yield.
What We’re Looking For:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
Experience: 3-8 years in maintenance engineering, with preferred expertise in robotics, vacuum products, and industrial tools.

Job Title: Module Line – Stringer Machine & Team Lead

Key Responsibilities
- Operate and supervise the stringer machine line within the solar module manufacturing process.
- Set up machine parameters, monitor performance and adjust ensure optimal output and minimal scrap or breakage.
- Ensure that production targets (strings/hour, cells/hour, modules/day) are met or exceeded.
- Lead a team of machine operators with responsibilities including training, shift coordination, task allocation, performance monitoring and feedback.
- Conduct visual inspections, sample testing and quality checks of strings and modules to ensure compliance with manufacturing and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning and basic troubleshooting of the stringer machine to minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate production logs, downtime reports, quality defect logs and report key metrics to the production manager.
- Ensure safety and compliance with all relevant protocols in the manufacturing area (use of PPE, machine guard checks, housekeeping, etc.).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (maintenance, quality assurance, engineering) to implement process improvements, reduce waste, improve yield and optimise throughput.
- Drive continuous improvement of the module line, for example reducing cell breakage, improving string alignment, reducing machine set-up time, etc.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience (ideally 2-5+ years) operating and managing stringer or tabber-stringer machines in solar module or solar cell manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of solar cell string-making processes, machine parameters, cell sizes, bus-bar configurations, breakage minimisation etc.
- Experienced in supervising and leading a small production team, allocating tasks, tracking operator performance, motivating team to achieve targets.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with shift operations, output targets and quality constraints.
- Basic mechanical / electrical aptitude—able to monitor machine performance, identify simple faults, coordinate maintenance.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and/or Hindi (Bengali advantageous) to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to analyse production data and take corrective actions to meet targets, control scrap, and drive yield improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Production Engineering or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- Prior experience specifically in solar PV module production lines (stringer → lay-up → lamination) would be a strong plus.
- Familiarity with automation, PLC/HMI machine interfaces, and advanced stringer machines for high-efficiency cells (HJT, TOPCon, half-cut, large format) is desirable.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding team production targets and improving process efficiency.

About job:
- Operating, monitoring, controlling, and adjusting all equipment in the production process based on measurements or analysis of the product specifications.
- Strict compliance to SOP, SOC, EHS procedures and administrative guidelines
- Intervening when process disturbances in the production process occur and in consultation with Supervisor/ Manager to determine whether the production process needs to be stopped for reasons of safety or process/ product specification deviation.
- Stopping and starting of installations
- Troubleshooting small failures of machines and installations or invocation of R&M, in consultation with the Supervisor/ Manager as and when required.
- Packaging of product in bags, weighing and shrink/ stretch wrapping and placing packaged products with a forklift in the designated warehouse locations.
- Perform standardized product, process analysis, and monitor results, such that timely adjustment of the production process will take place.
- This includes taking of samples compare the results of the laboratory with the specifications Deciding on the adjustments in the process within defined authorization.
- Reviewing with Supervisor/ Manager to get timely and safe maintenance or repairs to machinery and installations.
- Identifying and reporting (future) malfunctions
- Documenting of production information for the shift reporting, so that colleagues are informed regarding the production, analysis etc. and technical failure of installations.
- Observance of operating, environmental, health and safety regulations, housekeeping of equipment and work area. Being a role model to other team members.
- Ensure good housekeeping of operating area and self-involvement in housekeeping
About you:
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in Chemical Engineering/B. Sc with Chemistry as main subject.
- 5-7 years of applicable experience, preferably in midsized similar industries. Proven track record and a minimum of 3 years of experience in production process at plant level.
