Finance Operations Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) is looking for a Sr. Program Manager, FOAA PMO. We are looking for a strategic leader with super-powers in program strategy, writing, prioritization, and getting things done to join the PMO team that supports the Finance Operations Accounting and Analysis (FOAA) team in Amazon. This is a leader that partners with senior leadership on or independently owns central priority program work, drives, builds, and grows strategic operational mechanisms as a part of the PMO and directly supports the collective org, building out future priority areas of focus that align to org goals.
In this role, you will develop mechanisms for FOAA by implementing intake process, managing and prioritizing project portfolio and implementing org-wide project governance. As a Sr. Program manager, you will be part of lead change and operational excellence initiative in collaboration with cross organizational partners. You will define and establish best practice and coordinate projects with the Finance Operations, Accounting, and Technology senior leadership.

Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with stakeholders across the Central Accounting, FinOPs, Fintech, Business Partners and Technology teams.
- Develops and owns structured project intake for FOAA and drives prioritization and allocation.
- Develops and owns mechanisms to ensure timely delivery of projects by establishing scalable governance mechanisms.
- Grow and continue to improve central resources and tools to ensure visibility, alignment, impact, and connectivity across the collective org
- Flawlessly execute and lead operational mechanisms, while also tracking and measuring the success of each, capturing best practices, and iterating where needed
- Drive as the key central owner of priority projects across the collective org or provide PM partnership to FOAA functional leaders for priority project work
- Think big and build long-term and short-term program strategies based on performance metrics, project complexity, and team dependencies
- Own regular business reviews with leadership and operational teams to audit ongoing performance against key metrics and program goal
- Define new goals to measure the success of the PMO and drive health of the program
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams to execute mechanisms and progress tracking to topline priorities and goals across the org
- Collaborate with Program Managers across the org to develop, execute, and fulfill programs, as well as develop new programs to meet emerging needs
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of delivering cross functional projects experience
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Finance Operations Accounting & Analysis (FOAA) performs accounting and financial planning & analysis services, and our primary customers are Finance Operations, Central Accounting and other FGBS teams. We have three primary missions: 1) perform accounting and finance activities for our Accounting and Finance business partners at the highest level of controllership, 2) drive additional scale and productivity by optimizing and automating processes, and 3) lower the company's cost structure by transitioning accounting and finance work from high to low-cost geographies. The Senior Finance Manager in FOAA leads Accounting function for retail accounting for large India Sellers in a dynamic business (quick commerce) and evolving Indian regulatory (Goods and Service Tax- GST and proposed Direct Tax Code) environment. These sellers contribute significantly to A.in operations. The SFM ensures accurate and timely financial closing, reporting and statutory audit of end-to-end retail accounting of sellers, complying with generally accepted accounting principles The role is also responsible for Balance Sheet (B/S) reconciliations and substantiation of Balance Sheet (B/S) accounts and Accounting support activities. The SFM also leads FOAA's engagement with Amazon Pay and India Ops finance covering reconciliations and reporting activities for over 3 million daily transactions across various payment gateways for domestic, import and export transactions on A.in. This role is responsible for maintaining high Controllership standards on forecast for Driver counts (e.g. 3 Year Forecast and other operating plan- OP1/OP2, R&O). The role partners with central Accounting and Business teams to enhance controllership by minimizing sub optimal projects and providing remediation. The role supports Accounting Directors and Senior leaders, by helping to define the vision for the team through 3 year planning driving and supporting improvements, automation, efficiency and delivering productivity.
Key job responsibilities
People: The role holder will manage a high performing team of ~30 qualified accountants. The role develops the team through effective mentoring, timely feedback, performance management and strategic project assignments. Assist with the selection and hiring process managers for the accounting team.
Process: The role, will lead CFO level goals to drive productivity, operational excellence to improve global process consistency and demonstrate invent and simply through eliminate- automate- optimize The Role holder supports in planning and organizing resources to perform routine and scheduled functions. They will focus on general ledger activity, daily posting process, timely month-end closing process and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Technology: The role partners with FOAA ACES,PMO and various Tech teams to drive culture of innovation by identifying key areas to drive productivity and improve global consistency through standardization of processes through Business Process Re-Engineering (BPR) workshops.
Stakeholders: The role collaborates with Seller controllership, Central accounting, India Store finance, Operations finance, and various Amazon technology teams to deliver high velocity, strategic and scalable projects
Basic Qualifications
- 14+ years of positions that require analysis and reporting financial results experience
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
