About the role
Our Finance & Advice team partners with the business to provide expert financial insights, advice and reporting that drives long-term value.
Six-monthly rotations within our Finance & Advice teams will give you exposure to specialist activities such as:
- Producing results released to the ASX
- Contribution to our strategic business plan and rolling forecasts - supporting decisions on not just how we’ve performed but where we are going
- Gatekeeping our financial information, reconciling, enhancing processes and gaining exposure to large accounting and reporting systems
- Contributing to technical teams including advisory, regulatory and statutory reporting and tax.
You’ll have the opportunity to
- Rotate through a range of core accounting and advisory teams (financial, regulatory and management accounting, tax specialists) as well as exposure to specialist teams such as capital, investments, strategy, corporate development, reinsurance and climate.
- Work alongside the large Finance & Advice division of supportive and experienced finance professionals.
- Gain confidence, clarity, and direction in your career.
Preferred Degrees:
We encourage applications from students who are ready to start their post graduate accounting qualifications (CA or CPA).
Traditionally you’ve majored in Commerce, Business, Accounting, Finance, but in the spirit of building a diverse team, we’d love to meet you if you if your studies still allow you to start your CA or CPA.
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible you must have:
- Full working rights in Australia
- Studied at an Australian or New Zealand University
- Eligibility for immediate enrolment in CA or CPA (Suncorp study support provided)
- Completed your bachelor’s degree in the last 3 years (2023 to April 2026)

As a **Graduate Trainee - Accounting**, you will work closely with the finance and accounting team to support various accounting tasks while gaining hands-on experience. This role is ideal for recent graduates looking to build a career in accounting and finance. You will receive training and mentorship, and there may be opportunities to work towards professional accounting qualifications.
**What you will do**:
- Assist with maintaining and reconciling the general ledger.
- Help with journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
- Support in month-end and year-end closing processes
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
- Support the production of year-end financial statements and reports.
- Participate in variance analysis and provide insights to management.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Help ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and standards.
- Use accounting software to input, manage, and report financial data.
- Assist in the automation of financial processes where possible.
**Qualifications**
- **
Education**:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Articleship training completed under CA ( minimum passing percentage of 60% in graduation is required)
- ** Experience**: 0-1 year
- ** Numerical & Analytical Skills**: Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze financial data.
- ** Communication**:Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work as part of a team.
