A. About the Role:
We seek an experienced professional with 7+ years of relevant (Renewables/ consultancy) experience in the industry, who would utilize his/her expertise in taking lead in client relationship management, assignment execution, team mentoring and business development activities in the Renewable Energy advisory business under the Management Consulting vertical.
The Manager- Renewables is a mid-level position in the Company, and shall be a part of the dynamic, high performing team within our Management Consulting' division. As a key member of Management Consulting and reporting to the Director/Practice Head and COO, Management Consulting, the key (broadly indicative) expectations from the Manager- Renewables shall be as under:
B. Detailed expectations from the role:
- Support in managing and scaling up the Renewable Energy Practice
- Leading and mentoring a team of Analyst and Sr. Analyst, by building cohesive environment and providing on-job training to the team members to achieve timelines deliverables quality.
- Support the business lead in generating new business leads and opportunities, identify business opportunities from new and existing clients, write and cost project proposals, and prepare client presentations.
- plan, manage and carry out assignments, making optimum use of company resources to achieve high levels of client satisfaction. This will be achieved by producing assignment/project plans, working with the management team to identify appropriate resources to meet client needs and delivery, ensuring action is taken to ensure agreed quality standards and timescales are met.
C. Required skill set
- Should be able to do multi-tasking on assignments, BD responsibilities and be able to deliver in typical consulting environment.
- Candidate should possess strong set of techno-commercial competencies, thought leadership and people leadership, client focus and relationship.
- Candidate should not only have technical knowledge of multiple RE technologies (Solar, Wind, Hybrid, WTE, floating solar, agrisolar, etc.) but also should have knowledge in commercial as well as regulatory areas of RE including open access, connectivity, DSM, etc.
- Experience in the areas/assignments of: -
- Preparing Project Proposals / Technical documents for participating in bids;
- Perform Tasks in the capacity of Lender's Engineer and/or Project Management Agency for pursuing development of renewable Energy Projects;
- Undertaking feasibility assessment of RE projects by doing technical assessments (yield assessment, technical specifications, DPR, etc.) and preparing Financial models using cost plus and IRR approach for assessing the Technical/Commercial/Financial feasibility and progress of projects.
- Commercial and regulatory assessments (including landed cost models) and structuring of open access transactions for various modes of power sale, i.e., third party/bilateral, captive and power exchange. Should have executed end-to-end transactions of power sales including PPAs with C&I customers and liaised at Discom level across multiple states.
- Prepared PPA for power sale, third party as well as EPC procurement/bid documents and O&M contract.
- Petitions on Renewable Energy and Open Access before SERCs.
- Updated about the latest trends and disruptions happening in the RE sector such as green hydrogen, storage, PSP, EV, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of the Renewable Energy Sector, including its commercial, technological and regulatory drivers.
- Broad and deep professional network and contacts across Indian electricity utilities, renewable developers, regulators and policy arenas.
- Ability to multi-task effectively and balance time between project delivery and other area activities effectively.
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to manage both internal as well as external stakeholders.
D. Education and Experience
