About the Position
The Bond University School of Psychology within the Faculty of Society and Design has established itself as a leader in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research. We offer a number of undergraduate and postgraduate study options, all of which are accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) and approved by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA). Our Clinical Masters programs have College Course Approval with the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Due to expansion, we are currently seeking to appoint an Associate Professor – Clinical Psychology. This position will contribute to the Faculty of Society and Design’s teaching and research profile, engage in clinical and other professional activities and provide administrative support within the Faculty. The successful candidate will primarily be teaching into the Postgraduate Professional and Clinical Psychology programs although teaching into undergraduate and honours programs may be required.
About the person
The successful candidate must be student focused and possess a strong teaching record along with evidence of experience in contemporary teaching methods such as active learning, small group learning, web-based learning and technology enhanced learning.
Registration as a psychologist with endorsement, or eligible for clinical endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist is essential. Possession of or near completion of a PhD in Psychology and an active record of research and publications are also required for this role.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong research expertise and an eagerness to contribute to the multi-discipline environment on offer in the Faculty of Society and Design. Extensive evidence of a sustained international level of research output and impact, as well as considerable teaching experience and substantial service contributions will be required. An internationally leading research output and record of success in attracting external research grants will be expected of candidates seeking appointment at the Associate Professor Level A.
Selection Criteria
- PhD in Psychology.
- Registration as a psychologist, with Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology with Psychology Board registrar program principal supervisor.
- A strong teaching record in Clinical Psychology along with evidence of experience in contemporary teaching methods.
- Strong research expertise with a sustained international level of research output and impact.
- Effective collaboration in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Substantial service contributions within a university environment.
- Work within university and faculty policy and procedures, as amended from time to time.
- Demonstrate adherence to workplace health and safety regulations, and demonstrate respect for people of diverse backgrounds.
Salary details
The salary for an Associate Professor B position commences at $168,153.03 plus 12% superannuation per annum.
The salary for an Associate Professor A position commences at $184,204.27 plus 12% superannuation per annum.
The appointment will be made at the level commensurate with skills and experience.
