**Role Summary:**
+ The Engineer Applied Structural Mechanical Analysis performs structural and rotor dynamic analysis and reviews for order engineering, product development and for R&D for all Business Units and products. This includes optimization of the mechanical product design in accordance with customer specifications and requirements, national and international standards and internal procedures. The engineer performs mechanical and rotor dynamic analysis in all phases of the project, including input for detailed design. The key objectives are accuracy and quality of the results as well as the on-time delivery of said results. The engineer is the technical specialist on applied structural mechanical analysis for the product lines.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Perform structural and vibration engineering analyses on the products (including pump, hydraulic turbine, valve, seal and including the auxiliary equipment) to judge the adequacy of the design in relation to the applicable design requirements and for R&D activities.
+ Conduct basic engineering calculations (like shaft deflection, pressure boundary evaluation etc.) to validate FEA results. Good hands-on FEA Analysis tools (ANSYS and Dyrobes). FEA on Pumps and Valves. Carry out Fluid Structural Interface (FSI) analysis
+ Execute the impact of the design modification of components on the structural design.
+ Define critical dimensions of products and components.
+ Executes different types of mechanical analysis and reporting, including torsional and lateral analysis on products, such as pumps and skids.
+ Perform structural and thermal analysis of pressure vessels and rotating equipment
+ Carry out finite element analysis (FEA) of machine components, sub-assemblies and related support structures to determine stress, strain and, where necessary, natural frequencies, un-damped and damped
+ Review and evaluate customer specifications and supplier quotations related to technical acceptability of the mechanical design.
+ Assess FEA results against customer specifications, industry and Flowserve design standards and procedures for fatigue life and dynamic stability
+ Submittal of high-quality contractual documentation in accordance with customer/industry code requirements, such as ASME and present/discuss the results of the analysis with customer/stakeholders
+ Plan, direct, coordinate and perform the structural engineering activities in accordance with customer requirements, company's objectives and policies and within the established project budget and timeline
+ Manage structural design activities, such that optimum cost effectiveness is obtained between quality, design, and manufacturing, while ensuring that the engineering design standards are adhered to.
+ Conduct or participate in Root Cause Analysis to define corrective and preventive actions.
+ Support R&D projects dedicated to modifying and develop product upgrades
+ Support the order engineering teams in preparation and during customer meetings
+ Develop design tools for product design modification
+ Automation of the design and analysis process to improve the analysis time
+ Provide management with accurate and informative reports and evaluate the results of project assignments along with appropriate recommended course of action.
+ Participate in improvement and standardization activities such as Green Belt, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma to improve the operational performance.
+ Share information, knowledge and experience across Flowserve community Flowserve.

**Requirement:**
+ PG in Mechanical or equivalent with 15 years experience with at least 10 years' experience in Structural and rotor analysis. PhD is a added advantage.
+ FEA Analysis and Stress analysis calculation knowledge. Strong fundamentals of mechanical engineering. Good knowledge in relevant equations. Familiar with manufacturing processes. Good knowledge of relevant international standards such as ASME, ANSI, API. Excellent analytical and creative skills.
+ Knowledge of complex pump/seal/valve design.
+ Working knowledge of CAD and simulation tools.

+ Excellent engineering, verbal, written communication, Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to handle changing priorities and multiple tasks. Ability to take decisions and work independently. **Primary Responsibilities:**
+ Understand system requirements, design intent, and comply with applicable structural analysis practices, standard works, aerospace standards, customer requirements and regulatory requirements.
+ Lead structural analysis activities for NPI, technology programs, value engineering and resolve design issues
+ Recommend engineering solutions, taking account of critical constraints, including due concern for safety, cost, and weight
+ Develop analysis methods for making optimized products & components, meeting customer requirements.
+ Perform classical hand calculation, Finite Element Analysis, detailed report preparation (stress reports and presentations)
+ Provide thoughtful ways to improve processes, tools, methods, and products and document the best practice

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ 5 - 8 years of industry experience in in structural analysis (using FE tools, classical hand calculations)
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience in hydraulic and electro-mechanical product design/ structural analysis
+ Knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing processes, surface and heat treatment processes
+ Minimum 7 + years of hands-on experience using Ansys Workbench and Mathcad
+ Experience in productivity tool development using Excel VBA, Python etc.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in structural analysis using ANSYS.
- Strong understanding of Strength of Materials and mechanical behavior of different materials.
- Prior experience with Power Tools or Special Purpose Machines is preferred.
- Good knowledge of material selection and mechanical performance characteristics.
- Proficient in using simulation tools, documentation, and report preparation.

The Boeing Talent Acquisition Team is currently looking for highly-motivated **Interns** who can assists in Mechanical & Structural Design and Analysis of various Boeing aerospace programs based out of **Bangalore, India**. Assists in development of detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications. Gathers data for technical performance measures. Assists in providing engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product.
**Position Responsibilities**:
- Executing projects independently with minimum supervision
- Collaborating & communicating with cross functional teams and all stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with guidance and mentoring from team during project execution
- Positive attitude and highest ethics.
- Proactively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional team. Must be willing to work flexible hours (early or late as needed) to interface with Boeing personnel around the world.
- Demonstrate strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Be fluent in written and spoken English, and have high degree of proficiency with MS Office tools.
- Must be interested in Mechanical & Structural Design & development lifecycle.
- Develop, integrate and document mechanical, fluid system and thermal environment requirements.
- Develop and maintain the mechanical, fluid systems, component and installation designs using 3D computer-aided engineering tools.
- Provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and customers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite-element models and simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle
