Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically sound professional to lead the Manufacturing Engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI) functions in a high-precision aerospace manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in process planning, machining strategies, and hands-on experience on the shop floor—particularly with high-precision components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee end-to-end process planning for aerospace detail part manufacturing.
• Lead project planning , including resource identification, scheduling, and milestone tracking.
• Manage First Article Inspections (FAI) and ensure smooth New Product Development/Introduction (NPD/NPI) .
• Identify appropriate machining processes, fixtures, and tooling strategies for complex components.
• Apply knowledge of CNC milling, turning , and other critical aerospace machining processes.
• Ensure compliance with special processes and handle a variety of aerospace-grade materials .
• Interpret and implement GD&T as per ASME standards in process planning and execution.
• Oversee special tool design, procurement, and management .
• Create and maintain PPAP and PFMEA documentation.
• Utilize standard clamping elements and recommend optimal solutions for fixture design.
• Ensure strict adherence to Configuration Management , including Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and change control processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing efficiency and process optimization.
• Experience with Mastercam software will be considered a strong advantage.
• Ensure full compliance with AS9100 quality standards.

Candidate Profile:

• Hands-on shop floor experience is a must – candidates with only virtual manufacturing experience will not be considered.
• Demonstrated expertise in handling high-precision components in a live production environment.
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to mentor and lead cross-functional teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Should be able to handle Aerospace Projects individually
• Supervise engineers, technicians and other staff and provide guidance and feedback
• Able to handle a team max up to the size of 6
• Should sound in manufacturing process like Sheetmetal manufacturing, Machining, Tooling and surface finishing process
• Should be strong in Drawing interpretation and GD&T, Fixturing and Gauging
• Knowledge in special process, Welding will add advantage
• Should have strong base in aerospace quality requirements and standards.
• Hands on experience in aerospace documentation
• PFMEA, Risk analysis and mitigation
• Can handle customers and stake holders

Experience:

• Min 8 years of experience in New product development
• Min 5 years of experience in Aerospace New product development and qualification
• Should have good knowledge in process selection and identification of key process characteristics.
• Should have Experience in PPAP & APQP procedures
• Strong people management & team player skills
• Can able to trouble shoot the issues
• Excellent Written and Oral English Communication skills
• Should adhere with AS9100 / ISO9001-2015

Academic Qualification

BE/ ME/ MTech in Electronics/ Avionics or equivalent

Skill set Required

Good knowledge of System engineering concepts, experience on SysML , UML based SE tools like DOORS, Rhapsody, Engineering workflow management etc. Working with various internal stakeholders to gather needs. Exposure to Military standards and DO-178B standards for development.

Minimum experience required

8+ years of experience in industry.

Aerospace & Defense Product Development Experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Accountability for the progress of the contract activities and timely delivery of quality outputs by the team as per the agreed detailed roadmap
• Regular report to project team on the progress of the work packages. Weekly update meeting of the overall SE work progress including tasks completed and tasks planned to the concerned SE team of project office.
• Work with the System Engineer Principal to define the detailed roadmap for the contract activities to cover the work package definition
• Planning and execution of coordinated system development/customization activities with the IBM SE team for automation of the SE processes using IBM SE tools
• Support and coordinate with the various work groups and work centers of the project for the adoption of the SE processes
• Based on the discussions with and directions from project team, clearly define and support the quality plan and certification plan

Soft Skills (Must have)

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
