The Traineeship
This part time 24-month traineeship based in Townsville will set you up for a career working in Allied Health. This traineeship is well suited to somebody that can demonstrate good customer service skills and has a keen interest in administration & supporting medical industries. You will be working with our host business that specialises in Podiatry & lower limb care and working towards a Certificate III in Allied Health Assistant.
The core units of competency for this traineeship include:
- Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention & control.
- Communicate and work in health or community services.
- Participate in workplace health and safety.
- Interpret and apply medical terminology appropriately.
- Work with diverse people.
- Assist with an allied health program.
- Recognise impact of health conditions
What will you bring to the role?
Our team will help you develop during the traineeship, but there are some minimum requirements and key traits we are looking for:
- A passion to work with the community & a genuine interest in Allied Health Assistance
- Attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication
- A candidate who wants to learn and grow on the job!
- Hold a Blue Card (or happy to obtain)
- Pass a Fit2work police check
- Ability to work Monday to Friday working a minimum of 15 hours a week (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday)
- Drivers Licence
- Provide two references.
- Successful candidates will participate in a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol test

Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting physiotherapists with transferring, standing and walking clients.
- Assisting clients with individual and group exercise programs.
- Assisting with and running aquatic physiotherapy sessions.
- Assisting with application and removal of plaster casts and splints.
- Cleaning/tidying of equipment and therapy areas.
