Roles & Responsibilities
- Understanding of various Snowflake Editions, Snowflake Account type
- Understanding on Account setup, system defined roles, custom roles, and warehouse configurations.
- Understanding on E2E encryption, key hierarchy, Tri-Secret Secure.
- Can Implement and enforce RBAC policies, Network Policies & Data Masking policies.
- Monitor system performance and storage usage, optimize compute costs and query performance.
- Can manage security integrations like SSO & SCIM (Okta/Azure AD/PingFederate) on cloud platforms like Azure/AWS.
- Can manage and configure Data Sharing features like SHARES, READER ACCOUNTS, Private Listings, Marketplace listings, Data Exchange etc.
- Can understand the various networking & security aspects of Snowflake like setting up or configuring PrivateLinks & Private Endpoints.
Data Engineering Perspective:
- Understanding of Snowflake basic concepts, architectural components, data types etc.
- Hands on experience on Snowflake Internal/External stages, storage integrations, API integration, stored procedures, secure views, Functions/External Functions.
- Can implement Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks & Resource Monitors.
- Design & implement ETL/ELT pipelines using native snowflake features. Good to have knowledge/working experience on any ETL tool like Informatica (IDMC).
- Hands experience on SQL queries, materialized views and use of clustering keys/auto clustering.
