The Job

As the OWA Asia-Pacific Membership Lead, you are responsible for supporting OWA member groups in the Asia-Pacific region, which includes Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. This is a full-time, remote position. This position requires domestic and international travel, equivalent to 3 or more trips per year, and requires a valid, up-to-date passport. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate support and bonding opportunities for groups in the Asia-Pacific region. Facilitate team building calls, and recognize groups for their accomplishments via OWA communication platforms.

  • Our Veterinary Assistants triage emergency cases as they come in and assist DVM with crafting and going overestimates as needed. In addition, they perform diagnostics (radiographs, labwork, etc), setting patients up in ICU or Inpatient ward, discharging patients, and handling client communication.

    Provide nursing care to patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.

    Report patient signalment, problem list and plan during nursing rounds.

    Understand classification of commonly used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response.

    Administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.

    Perform phlebotomy.

    Perform physical exam; accurately counts heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.

    Possess a working knowledge of anesthesia/monitoring equipment and assist with patients assigned ASA I or II classifications.
