About the position:
We are looking for motivated individuals to deliver innovative digital solutions through design, development, deployment, and support. The Lead API Software Developer (Back-end) role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining back-end applications and APIs using Microsoft Azure and common back-end frameworks. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, optimize performance, and ensure scalability and reliability. Key responsibilities:
- Lead a large team of junior and senior software developers in the analysis and drafting of technical requirements to design, develop, test, and maintain application back ends and APIs leveraging Microsoft Azure and common back-end frameworks.
- Mentor junior and senior software developers to gain proficiency in software design and development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design API solutions that meet business needs.
- Create and enhance existing code implementing industry best practices around software design patterns to ensure the codebase is maintainable and scalable
- Optimize APIs and backends for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Design and management of relational database schemas, performance, and queries.
- Troubleshoot and resolve API and backend related issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.
- Document API processes, configurations, and best practices.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our API solutions remain cutting-edge.
Required Qualifications:
Basic proficiency in scripting and automation, particularly using Python.
10-15 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automated testing. Knowledge and experience applying multiple levels of testing (Unit, Integration, and End to End)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
- Experience monitoring & logging application performance in cloud environment
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
