As an IBM Application Architect, you directly help clients transform their business and solve complex problems. You will define the scope and vision for projects that deliver customized solutions using your knowledge of IBM platforms. **Your Role and Responsibilities**
IBM’s Multi Cloud Services are focused on supporting clients on their cloud journey across any platform to achieve their business goals. It encompasses Cloud Advisory, Architecture, Cloud Native Development, Application Portfolio Migration, Modernization, and Rationalization as well as Cloud Operations.
- Multi Cloud Services supports all public/private/hybrid Cloud deployments:
- IBM Bluemix/IBM Cloud/Red Hat/AWS/ Azure/Google and client private environments.
- Multi Cloud Services has the best Cloud developer architect Complex SI, Sys Ops and delivery talent delivered through our GEO CIC Factory model.
- Create cloud migration strategies; defining delivery architecture, creating the migration plans, designing the orchestration plans and more.
- Assist in creating and executing of migration run books
- Evaluate source cloud (Physical¨ Virtual and Cloud) and target Workloads.
- Bring together and define migration requirements.
- Use troubleshooting skills and work closely with operations, support, and or other functions to ensure successful migrations.
- Managing initiatives for migration and modernization in AWS cloud environment.
- You as a modernization professional, you will have experience to migrate legacies to Cloud platforms, move from one programming language to the other
Help in Legacy Modernization Solution Design and delivery through following:
- Leads the team to design Modernization strategy and identify the need for API, Containerization, Microservices creation vs. language conversion, Database conversion.
- Leads the team to adopt continuous modernization instead of Big bang approach.
- Leads and SME in Modernization methodology and can lead the Design thinking workshop, method tailoring as Client environment and Client industry.
- SME by providing significant contribution to Modernization on Technical elements of WBS, estimation, Modernization risk, dependencies, Minimum viable product (MVP).
- SME on at least two modernization assessment and execution tools.
- Good knowledge on AWS ECS, AWS ECR, AWS EKS, AWS Fargate, AWS Lambda function, AWS Elastic Cache, AWS S3, AWS API Gateway, AWS CloudWatch and AWS SNS, AWS RDS and AWS DynamoDB. Foundation knowledge on AWS DevOps Services and database (RDBMS & NoSql) solutions (runs on VM's).
**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**
- (a) Should have 6+ Years of IT Industry experience.
(b) Minimum 6+ years as an Delivery Architect/Migration Architect with proven track record.
(c) Should be AWS Associate or Professional certified Architect
(d) Led Architecture initiatives on AWS Migrattions
(e) Experience in managing Architecture team
(f) Strong technical leadership capability
(g) Cloud Migration Experience - 8 years
(j) Should have worked for minimum of 5 years on WebSphere and Java/J2EE or.NET

- Design and Implement best practices for Design and implement application observability using Cloudwatch and NewRelic with key considerations and focus on monitoring, logging and alerting to provide insights into application performance and health.
- Design and implement key integrations of application components and external systems, ensuring smooth and efficient data flow
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to application performance, availability and reliability
- Create, maintain and prioritise a quarter-over-quarter backlog by identifying key areas of improvement such as cost optimization, process improvement, security enhancements etc.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation outlining the infrastructure design, integrations, deployment processes, and configuration
- Work closely with the DevOps team and as a guide/mentor and enabler to ensure that the practices that you design and implement are followed and imbibed by the team
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in AWS Services such as EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, SES, SQS, ElastiCache, Redshift, EFS
- Strong Programming skills in languages such as Groovy, Python, Bash Shell Scripting
- Experience with CICD tools and practices, including Jenkins, Spinnaker, ArgoCD
- Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
- Understanding of AWS security best practices, including IAM, KMS
- Familiarity with Agile development practices and methodologies
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
- Proficiency in using observability, monitoring and logging tools like AWS Cloudwatch, NewRelic, Prometheus
- Knowledge of container orchestration tools and concepts including Kubernetes and Docker
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross function teams
