As a **Application Development Engineer - Application & Automation** in 3M's Automotive & Aerospace Solutions Laboratory, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and excel in collaborating with others in the laboratory to revolutionize standard manual processes and invent new, automated solutions for our industry.
Here, you will make an impact by:
+ Playing a key role in customer interaction & specifying 3M Automotive **Automated** solutions at OEM's & Tiers
+ Leading the way on **application development** including responsibilities for ideation, documentation, feasibility analysis, and validation
+ Plays crucial role in defining standard processes and tools to accelerate implementation of **physical automation** solutions
+ **Collaborating** with and guide multiple teams to ensure the success of application implementation, including marketing, external industry partners, and customers
+ Providing **application support and training to customers** , including in-person visits
+ Gaining a complete understanding of the application effectiveness by **leading field trials** and **internal testing** along with analyzing and presenting findings
+ Striving to remain ahead of pending changes to industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
+ Developing and testing **automation solutions leveraging technologies** such as robotics, computer vision, machine learning and other industrial automation and software technologies.

**Your Skills and Expertise**
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
+ Bachelor or Master's degree in MECHATRONICS including FBD, Ladder Logic Sequential Function chart, Perl Shells Scripting. (completed and verified prior to start)
+ 3-5 years of experience providing technical support to customers in **technical and/or application engineering role** in a private, public, government, or military environment
+ **Data driven** / tech savvy.
+ Proven experience in presenting himself/company in external conferences/Events
+ Demonstrate lab to field /scale up experience for multiple products in his tenure
+ To provide **Design Engineering** in the development of various programs
+ To support prototyping and sampling till scale-up of new programs
+ To provide in-plant application training support to Customers
+ To obtain prototype approvals and tooled up Sample approvals during Program Development from Customers
+ **Train** sales & marketing team on various products and their applications
+ To evaluate and **audit performance** of products as per Customer Specific Requirements
+ To provide, generate and maintain **TS16949 / QMS** documentation
+ To provide a timely and optimally elaborate response and corrective action plan to Customer Complaints
+ To continuously pursue 3M Six-Sigma methodology in various work practices
+ Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other engineering field (completed and verified prior to start)

- Perform application design and development for a key business PLM application(s).- Perform DevOps release management and incident managemt following ITIL framework.
