This position is based in Chennai and because success in the role will require in-person contact with the team, remote work is not an option.

The Lead Engineer – Asset Integrity will provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise, ensuring successful delivery of assigned projects within time and budget constraints. This role typically oversees multiple projects simultaneously, managing resources and guiding team members to achieve project goals.

Job Summary:
- We are seeking a skilled Pipeline Integrity GIS Specialist to support our pipeline integrity projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for extracting, processing, and validating GIS data while ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role involves working closely with section managers and engineers to convert spatial data into required formats, verify pipeline features, and maintain high data accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extract GIS data from the client s enterprise geodatabase and convert it into a file geodatabase for further processing.
- Transform spatial data into various formats as per engineering requirements.
- Develop and document detailed procedures for data extraction, quality control, and validation.
- Calibrate pipeline centerlines based on provided documents and update feature locations accordingly.
- Verify and relocate pipeline features to align with the corrected centerline.
- Integrate and standardize extracted data from multiple sources into a common dataset.
- Perform quality checks to ensure data accuracy and adherence to enterprise geodatabase standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to validate GIS datasets before transferring data back to the client s system.
- Maintain an organized database of pipeline integrity information and support GIS-related project needs.
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Pipeline GIS, Geo-Informatics, Remote Sensing, Geology, Geography, or a related field.
- 0-4 years of experience in GIS, with a minimum of 2 years in pipeline integrity GIS preferred.
- Strong proficiency in GIS tools and software including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, QGIS, SQL, and Geodatabases.
- Solid understanding of pipeline integrity concepts, including design, construction, inspections, and linear referencing.
- Familiarity with industry-standard GIS data models such as APDM, UPDM, and PODS.
- Ability to work with large geospatial datasets and ensure data consistency and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with engineers and project teams effectively.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
+ Manage the global speak-up platform and case management system-an external, cloudbased solution-ensuring timely user access, continuous user-focused adaptation and configuration of new modules, workflows and domain security via self-editing tools or, when needed, by coordinating with the software provider to implement platform modifications.
+ Develop test cases to confirm that platform changes align with business requirements and are suitable for production deployment.
+ Provide timely responses to requests for data related to integrity investigations or any information housed within the case management system.
+ Develop and maintain databases, dashboards, reports, and visualizations to inform key business decisions, while monitoring data quality and ensuring consistency and accuracy across all outputs. Assets may be integrated into the case management system or hosted externally on platforms such as MS Excel or PowerBI.
+ Deliver insights and reports based on data available to the Business Integrity team.
+ Oversee data migration processes resulting from changes in system providers, acquisitions, or disposals within the Unilever group.
+ Ensure all systems and documentation are prepared and maintained in accordance with audit requirements.
+ Support end-users throughout phase rollouts by facilitating drop-in sessions, providing job aids and training, and collecting feedback. Analyze recurring themes in user input and either action or log them for further review.
+ Utilize various methods to collect, analyze, verify, and manage requirements across the organization to support projects and drive system improvements.
+ Partner with IT to manage platform-related security enhancements, user accounts, and access permissions.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
