**Role Definition**
Designs, develops, builds and evaluates engine systems with existing and new technologies.

+ Executing the **design strategy** as defined by the L3 System Lead (e.g. modular design / part minimisation / re-manufacturability / etc) for **camshaft & Valve train system/Rotating Components**
+ Generate **concepts/design sets** to meet Technical Objectives, refine concept and down select to 1 or 2 design sets/concepts to take through to detailed design
+ Verify/ **_validate_** residual risk in the design through virtual risk verification techniques such as component and sub-system simulation (post-freeze)
+ Perform **modal and structural analysis** where required
+ Should be **extremely efficient in Creo 3D modelling** techniques including castings, forgings, fabrications and piping.
+ Should have very good understanding of **GD&T, tolerance stack up and drafting** .
+ Should have capability to work on **Creo Mechanisms** for multiple engine systems.
+ Identify and Assess product risk through Sub-system and component **DFMEAs &** **DVP&R** **.** Create **DFMEAs** from scratch and take to full completion by discussing with cross functional teams.
+ Use of virtual risk **_mitigation_** techniques (e.g. Stack-tolerance analysis, Hand calculations, component & sub-system simulation) (Pre-freeze)
+ Use of **SME review, best practice guides** to mitigate risk in potential designs (Pre-freeze)
+ Use the output from the risk mitigation to create a robust, **detailed design** including Models & Prints, Configured Groups & Assembly Drawings
+ Completing **technical sign-off** of the completed design

Role Overview
As an Associate Engineer in DCR Detailing team for Electric Power Division projects, the candidate will play a critical role in concept Modelling and Detailing for NPI projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless collaboration among Product group engineers, external manufacturing suppliers, DCR's checking & Releasing teams and offsite drawing execution teams to meet the Quality and delivery commitments. **Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:**
+ Understand the program timeline and conduct detailed scope study for concept Modelling/Drawing execution.
+ Develop required concepts such as Frames, Enclosures, Tanks etc. Conduct review meeting with product group/Leads to finalize the concept.
+ Execute Modelling & Detailing. May use onsite/offsite teams during higher volume.
+ Manage Queries/clarifications among Product group, onsite & offsite teams and Checking & Releasing teams.
+ Provide expertise recommendations and workable alternatives considering commonization and standardization of Genset components.
+ Provide timely communication of issues/constraints in meeting the deliveries to respective parties.
+ Adherence to required Process compliance in ESMS & TcEng and with offsite teams.
+ Maintain Project tracker and provide status update periodically to the Product group/Leads/Manager.
+ Explore Automation possibilities and provide recommendations for product/process improvements.
+ Actively contribute towards Cost reduction/Cost savings, Micro Innovation and Prevent Part Proliferation drives.
**Basic Qualification:**
Bachelor/ Master's degree preferably in Mechanical/Product Design/Automobile Engineering or its Equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experience in modelling and detailing.

**POSITION SUMMARY :**
System order engineering service involves mainstream support extended from engineering centers on the design and development of device, assemblies, or systems to be produced through production manufacturing process in various business units. While referred to as Order Engineering in some areas, employees in these roles are responsible for managing mainstream support for various business units which execute time bound projects / Standardization for OEM's and or End Users.
