Position:  Audio Technician

Department:  Electrical Department

Key Responsibilities

Audio-Visual Operations:

• Set up, operate, and manage audio and visual systems for events in various facilities, including Conference Halls, Open Auditoriums, Indoor Auditoriums, COE Meeting Halls, and Chandra Seminar Halls.
• Ensure high-quality sound, lighting, and multimedia support during events, seminars, conferences, and meetings.
• Coordinate with event organizers and other departments to meet specific technical requirements for events and presentations.
• Install and configure new audio-visual equipment, sound systems, and projection setups for both large and small events.
• Ensure all equipment is fully functional, tested, and prepared before each event.

Inventory & Equipment Management:

• Maintain an inventory of all audio-visual and electrical equipment, ensuring proper storage, regular testing, and calibration of systems.
• Manage spare parts and supplies, ensuring that any necessary components are readily available for immediate use or replacement.

Safety & Compliance:

• Ensure all installations, setups, and maintenance practices follow safety protocols and meet organizational standards.
• Adhere to all local regulations and safety standards for electrical systems, HVAC maintenance, and audio-visual equipment use.

• Proven experience as an Audio-Visual Technician, with at least 4 years in a lead or supervisory role.
• Extensive knowledge of professional audio consoles (e.g., Yamaha, Behringer, Avid), digital audio networking (e.g., Dante), and microphone techniques.
• Proficiency in lighting control systems (e.g., ETC, GrandMA) and intelligent lighting fixtures.
• Experience with video switchers (e.g., Blackmagic, Ross), projectors, and LED walls.
• Familiarity with live streaming platforms and hardware encoders.
• Strong understanding of signal flow, cable management, and power distribution.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work under pressure.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical stamina to lift and move heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different event locations within the region.

• Overseeing all aspects of audio-visual production for events and performances.
• Setting up, configuring, and operating sound consoles, microphones, and speaker systems.
• Designing and implementing lighting plots using various fixtures and control systems.
• Managing video playback, projection, and live camera feeds.
• Troubleshooting and resolving AV equipment malfunctions in real-time.
• Leading and mentoring junior AV technicians.
• Collaborating with artists, directors, and event organizers to meet technical specifications.
• Maintaining and repairing AV equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Staying updated on the latest AV technologies and best practices.

• Proven experience as an Audio-Visual Technician or similar role, preferably in live events or theatre.
• Extensive knowledge of sound engineering principles, lighting control, and video systems.
• Experience with digital audio consoles (e.g., Yamaha, Behringer) and DMX lighting control.
• Familiarity with video switchers, projectors, and presentation software.
• Strong understanding of signal paths and troubleshooting techniques.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
• Physical stamina to lift and move heavy equipment.

The Auditorium Incharge oversees the complete management and day-to-day operations of the auditorium, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities include coordinating and supporting events, managing technical systems such as sound and lighting, supervising staff, maintaining the facility, enforcing safety protocols, and delivering a high-quality experience for event organizers, performers, and attendees.

This role requires strong organizational, technical, and leadership skills to ensure the venue meets both operational standards and user expectations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Arts Administration, or a related field (preferred).
• Previous experience in venue management, event coordination, or related roles.
• Strong technical knowledge of sound, lighting, and AV equipment (preferred).
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and security protocols in public venues.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as events require.
