3. Knowledge on TIG & Arc welding Process.

4. Hands on experience in sheet metal fabrication.

5. Should be able to read or create high level assembly BOM's

6. Should be able to create & test Pneumatically contrlolled circuit / layout.

7. Should have fair knowledge on different welding methods and able to calculate & design weld allowance.

8. Should be good team lead & have patience to guide & train the team members.

9. Should be flexible & aggressive to take difficult challenging tasks.

About the Role

The Hive Careers is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Automation Consultant to join our team on a remote contract basis and work with one of our FMCG clients. This role involves leading the assessment, design, and deployment of automation technologies to optimize manufacturing efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality.

This is a remote-first role , but occasional on-site travel may be required during critical phases of implementation (travel expenses covered).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a remote audit of existing manufacturing systems and identify automation opportunities.
  • Design and propose automation workflows across production, refrigeration, packaging, and quality assurance.
  • Develop and guide deployment of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems , coordinating with local teams.
  • Implement IoT-based predictive maintenance systems for equipment health monitoring.
  • Integrate AI-driven vision systems for automated quality control using smart cameras.
  • Enable ERP and MES system integration to create a unified, intelligent production environment.
  • Ensure food safety and compliance throughout the automation design and rollout.
  • Provide comprehensive documentation and remote training to client teams.
  • Offer ongoing virtual consultation, support, and system optimization.

Required Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical/ Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrial automation , preferably in FMCG or food production .
  • Advanced knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen Bradley), and SCADA/HMI systems.
  • Experience with remote automation consulting , including supporting on-site teams.
  • Strong understanding of industrial IoT, sensor integration , and control system architecture.
  • Familiarity with food-grade automation and hygiene compliance standards.

Preferred Expertise

  • Experience automating dairy, ice cream, beverage, or frozen food production environments.
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML-powered visual inspection systems .
  • Experience integrating with ERP and MES platforms for process visibility and control.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 tools and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in remote settings.
